Ooof. Chelsea FC **** the bed yesterday and fired one of the best tactical coaches around this morning. I REALLY need UT to lay the smack down on Pittsburgh this weekend, otherwise my week is in absolute shambles.

There are 2 composite 5-star RBs this year. We aren't beating Bama for a RB anytime soon and the other wasn't interested in playing in the SEC. Its was between Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisville. Now the number 5 and 6 backs might be reconsidering their schools after week 1.

Pitt game will come down to how well our OL can block. That's the only thing I'm concern about, if they hold up against that Pitt front 7 in the first half pretty well and we can get into the tempo early we should have them gassed by the 2nd half and it'll be a long day for 'em.

If they can force us into plenty of 3 & outs we'll be struggling and it'll end up being close into the 4th.

That is my concern...us not being able to runblock/passpro against that front 7 + Hooker having an off game = vastly slowed down offense.

I think they could put up at least 24+ on our defense, so if they "hold" us to mid 20s...it will be a dogfight in their yard.

I still just don't have much confidence in our defense....and like it or not, Slovis can play and their front 7 is a legitimate threat.

I hope I am 100% wrong about our defense and we absolutely destroy them.

IF our defense plays really good in this game...I think we could maul them.

I think the only area to complain so far would be DE and CB

How could we complain about DE? That's arguably the deepest position we've recruited since Heupel has been here. Young, Josephs, Pierce, Herring, Bradley, and in 24 we already have Gentle and Echols could play TE or Edge.

I think we see a lot more stunts and zone blitzes. More interior pressure. I think we get enough pressure to disrupt Slovis and help out our dbs & lbs in coverage. One of our cbs likes to hit hard. Hopefully we dial up 1-2 CB blitzes and he knocks Slovis into next season.

I think Sampson will have his 1st 100yd game and Hooker goes over 300pass yds. 55-24 Vols.

We can’t have Kentucky knocking Florida from their peddle stool, that needs to be Us. Without a doubt Kentucky needs to blow this one in gloriously embarrassing fashion.

You and I are in a similar spot. I fundamentally think - I don't trust Tennessee yet. On paper, I can see all the arguments for why Tennessee might win handily. I just don't quite trust them yet. It's nothing against the coaches, etc. But I just got to see this team win a few games like the Pitt game before I fully trust that we've arrived and can be counted on to execute at a high level consistently in games like this. We're still at the beginning of Year 2 of a new coach, afterall.

Yeah especially now that the playoffs are likely going to 12 teams.

SEC gets 4 teams in = BIG MONEY

Now...if it's Us against an undefeated or 1 loss playoff potential squad Bama, Florida, Georgia etc. then I do think we'll deal with some bias against us...especially if we're "out of the race" for the playoffs. Great example is the Ole Piss game last year...they were still "in the hunt" with their only loss being @ Bama and we were already at 2 losses.

If you've been a top 8 ish team all season and you lose late to a top 4ish team I don't think you get penalized so severely that you miss the playoff.

There will be multiple 2 loss (maybe 3 at times) teams that make it.

I like the long term vision of the new owners.. I just thought Tuchel was a part of that. Not incredibly surprising considering Tuchels longest tenure at a club is 2 years though. Great tactician but over time his relationships wear down.. with players and management. Still, thought he was turning a coroner with that aspect but you could tell something was wrong the way the team has been playing.

Speaking of running it, Pitt gave up 5.6 yards per rush last week against WVU.

If we can pass whenever we want AND move the chains on the ground, they're toast. If they're spending all week working on rush defense, I've got bad news for them.
