I don’t pretend to know how the A&M cult decides who gets to fill whatever position the person in the video holds, but going forward, they might want to make sure they have a rudimentary knowledge of the college football landscape and (at least) recent history.

Because they should know that Appalachian State has a history of making fools out of the overconfident.
App State is literally the OG of historic upset wins.

I think everyone is completely over valuing that job IMO. No way Stoops would entertain that job.

They hired Frost away from UCF. Gus would have a hearty laugh and hang up if they tried to hire him away from UCF in 2022. That program is in the turrlet with nothing going for it.
Nebraska got what they deserved. Tom Osborn picked frank solich to replace him. Guy was winning 10 games a season. Not good enough. Bill Callahan started their downfall.

I never really thought he w

I never really thought he was a great QB, just had a ridiculous defense. He wasn’t bad, just felt he was a game manager.
A game manager was runner up to the Heisman trophy? I don’t really remember him specifically so I don’t know, but that seems a little extreme.

Guess that’s true. I would like to see how many times he was targeted…. Ball State targeted him 21 times.
Before Heup was hired…. I watched several videos breaking down his offense…. I would love to see videos breaking down our defense…. Seeing who is doing their job correctly…. There are a lot of details that we can’t pick on from watching the game…. Zone or man(sometimes we can)…. If they are rolling the defense to one side or the other…. Several details that determine how a player is performing that we don’t pick up on watching from home…

I hate to say it but there is a chance Hooker peaked last year.

He can still be good. But you might realize there is no upside.

I think that’s why coaches wanted Milton to figure it out.

I am not saying make a change. I don’t think you can do that.

I’m just saying improvement on last year light not be reasonable. But something similar would be great.

64% completion rate for 325 yards. With the winning pass play in OT!

How many teams in the country would kill for those stats on an off night?
ND? gators? Texas A&M? Nebraska? Texas? The list is endless…but we should be hoping the backup is ready to exceed expectations?

Those are his stats for an “off game”
Tillman was also having an off game and if you only look at his total yards, you would not know it.

I remember the Coach Majors years where every game was a heart attack waiting to happen. This game took me back in time to those games. I will take that every week if the results are a win when the dust settles. The biggest difference is that I wasn’t in the heart attack years then. Now, thankfully I am doing lots of cardio and am ready for it…😎 I hope that our next 13 wins are blowouts. I will accept close wins over bama and uga.

15-0 🤠

I know. Two games. I just think he looks off and not nearly as sharp or calm as last year.

Forcing a lot. Over throwing. Missing high. Seems really anxious.

I just wonder if the best hooker we see was last year’s version.

Nope, not at all. I think he is worried by all the hype he is receiving. Trying to live up to it rather than just playing within himself.

Hopefully the coaching staff sees it and is correcting it this week.

I watched the first half again last night to specifically watch 4. And I have to say, he did appear to do better than I thought. He only got beat once bad, but every corner gets beat time to time. They converted two long down and distances, but it appears we are in zone and he is covering the sideline and bails early to not get beat over the top. Both times the receiver curled or went inside. I have to believe a safety is suppose to come up and help. I’m starting to wonder if we are rolling flowers and playing for a turnover by crowding one side and the middle. They just happen to hit the right receiver with the right play call. In press man coverage, Burrell was very good. He didn’t seem to be beat any time we were in press man and got his hands on the receiver early. The long run was a terrible angle by Tank and the TE hurdle was a bad tackle by Flowers. But you take away those two plays and the defense was really good.
