War in Ukraine

First, I don't think I have fantasying about anything, only talking possibilities and obvious observations. If they want to collapse, they can continue what they are doing, its their choice.

Why do we care if Europe collapses or not? I don't.
I'm saying it's not going to happen. I guess we'll see who's right.

It will take many more artillery conventional shells to flatten that place into the world's biggest parking lot, everyone is going to be looking for shells. Everyone is going to have to produce millions and million more tons of shells.

Anyway that war is over, the European economic war is just getting started.

The irony to me would be countries turning themselves into new versions of 1980s USSR.

Speaking of the 80s. Back then the first thing I would do in the morning was grab the newspaper and turn to The Far Side cartoon for a dose of humor. Lately I have just been reading to one of your dumb ass posts. I chose this Larson carton in your honor:

Dude, Liz Truss is already coming out the gate talking about price caps. If supplies were in sufficient abundance, there wouldn't be any need for that kind of measure. Use a bit of common sense.
I don't see her saying we need to abandon Ukraine, so apparently Russian fear-mongering isn't having the intended effect.

Its Very High Risk for Europe vs. No Real Reward. It was always about the chances of winning something versus losing.

There isn't anything for Europe to really win at this point.

I never said that Europe would collapse only that its a possibility, either way they will get pain. The Ukraine is toast, so all of that is moot.

If the war is over why is Russia begging for military assistance from its downtrodden allies?

And yet, I'm betting they will. Which economy do you think will be stronger next year? Germany or Russia?

I don't know, but its hard to imagine even having much economic output if prices continue to rise. As I have said, I think we're all looking at a recession and maybe depression. Energy prices will come down at the cost of economic output. Either way there isn't much for Europe to win at this point.

At the end of the day, Europe is going the route of 1980s USSR.... that doesn't mean they will arrive there next year. It might be too late to get off the train, I have no idea... but that is where the train is going.

I think we can safely say they won't ever arrive there (outside your fan fiction, of course).

I guess she has read up enough on British history to realize that appeasing fascists making land grabs is not a long term solution.
Well first off, this isn't the British Empire in 2022... they barely have 80k active troops, so all they have are economic sanctions. Secondly, Russia isn't the fascists grabbing land. These regions in southern and eastern Ukraine were historically Russian since the days of Catherine the Great. Had the Kyiv Regime not been attacking them since 2014, you wouldn't have Ukraine on the verge of becoming the European version of Libya.

Logically if Europe thinks the current "plan" is a "win" strategy, you would have actually implement real sanctions. Why wouldn't Europe cut flow from the Ukraine?

If what is working...works than in theory you increase the pressure.

Right now, Putin is just countering escalation. He actually is running Europe's "plan" better than they are. LOL

Putin is simply complying with the sanctions. He is capitulating and deciding not to sell energy, food and fertilizer to Europe because he is unwilling to violate the sanctions.

More or less, I guess either side could cut other flows like the Ukraine. The whole thing makes no sense unless one is on a suicide mission.

Did you even watch the clip and see the context or just look at the clickbait framing of her being an extremist? Is this supposed to mean something? I'd wager that every single leader of a nuclear power would respond the same way.

Would you have felt better if she said, no? What if your president said no? You'd want a leader who wouldn't be willing to throw down if the circumstance required it?
