War in Ukraine

Want to know how bad it is for Russia? They are purchasing arms from North Korea..

From CNN:
Live updates: Russia's war in Ukraine

More evidence that Russia is quickly becoming combat ineffective which will take them years if not decades to recover from. Guess them Soviet tanks and weapons being "unmothballed" wasn't so tactical now was it?

Iran and North Korea propping up a third world dictator's military. Ironic

It will take many more artillery conventional shells to flatten that place into the world's biggest parking lot, everyone is going to be looking for shells. Everyone is going to have to produce millions and million more tons of shells.

Anyway that war is over, the European economic war is just getting started.

The irony to me would be countries turning themselves into new versions of 1980s USSR.

If the West really care for them, you would think they wouldn't have gotten them in a war with no path to victory. Its a suicide run. Ole well.
Their path to victory was sanctions and flooding the area with weapons. The problem is that you can't sanction a country that covers 12 time zones, is a trading partner with China and that actually has a real economy with essential commodities. They are stuck in their biases and their ideology and have no reverse gear. They are just going to continue to double and triple down on failed strategies.

Right, because the logical thing to do when a war ends is to buy weapons from North Korea.
One poor country simultaneously engaging in economic war with a bunch of rich countries? Good luck.

Seems to be working out so far. We'll see.

Its hard to see any type of real plan here.

At this point, not sure how they can even double down. LOL

And I'm sure the economic data will definitely bear that out, once Russia is willing to start publishing it again.

Seems to be working out so far in the markets, there is only so much hiding one can do. We'll see, so far its not much of an economic war.... time will tell. Either way not much of a plan here for Europe that I see.

Very high risk vs. no real reward for Europe. Not sure I see the point.

Agreed. Have said that from the start. While I despise Ukrainian leadership, I feel bad for the innocent Ukrainians stuck in the middle of this. No one in the Western Death Cult gives 2 rips about their well being. They are but stupid insignificant pawns to them.
Just go by the words that you see the Ukrainiacs using in here. They have openly stated that they are fully aware that Ukraine cannot win this war, but they want to drag this out as long as possible in an effort to try to get Russia into a Vietnam/Afghanistan style quagmire and weaken them militarily... even if that means spilling every drop of Ukrainian blood in the process. They are openly admitting that the Ukrainians are pawns and cannon fodder, and they don't see anything wrong with that.

I see a lot of pro Russian sources assuring us Europe is about to freeze to death. And yet, they still haven't caved. Amazing. It's almost like Europe will survive after all. And of course, still be far richer than Russia.

I think they will be okay this winter, we'll see.... economic output will have to drastically be cut. Either consumer needs to be cut, or supply increased or some combination. Printing more money just makes the situation worse. There really is no plan here other than to make Europeans poor.

Europeans will have to learn to become 1980s Soviet citizens.

Would you consider Bloomberg to be a reliable source of information? What about the UK's Financial Times?
I mean Russia actually being transparent with their own economic data. Not an article saying sanctions haven't killed an artificially propped up ruble.

How can you say that when we are already seeing shop owners and small business owners in the UK getting 4 and sometimes 5 digit energy bills? How long is that sustainable? And keep in mind, this is the first week of September.

Let me know how that Russian fan fic works.

Not sure what that means. What's Europe's plan? There isn't one. Getting all upset about something so simple seems kind of wasteful.

I can see you are upset, I just have no idea what about.

Meh, OK. I think all the evidence you need to see is that you had thousands of people on the streets of Prague and Paris this past weekend while the streets of Moscow and St. Petersburg are quiet.

I'm not the one fantasizing about a European collapse that isn't going to happen.

Right. Not like Russia arrests protestors or anything. As we know, the lack of mass demonstrations in Moscow during the Soviet era was because how well things were going.

First, I don't think I have fantasying about anything, only talking possibilities and obvious observations. If they want to collapse, they can continue what they are doing, its their choice.

Why do we care if Europe collapses or not? I don't.

Dude, Liz Truss is already coming out the gate talking about price caps. If supplies were in sufficient abundance, there wouldn't be any need for that kind of measure. Use a bit of common sense.

Have you looked at how some of these Western countries have handled protests recently?
