Elvis had a huge hand in promoting RnR in the beginning. I'm not sure he had much to do with actually creating it, which in my view is definitive in being regarded as the "king" of it. That's all.

As I see it, Elvis was a pretty face, good voice, and some flexible hips to cause controversy and attention. But we have RnR because of the bands and songwriters that were actually writing/creating rock n roll. If we want to crown folks, let's crown them, is all I'm saying.
You must be a guy. All the girls that were my older sister's age were totally in love with him.

If they don't win 7 games this year then he's a buster.

At the same time, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Nebraska. I met some cool fans at the 2016 MCB. Big Orange - Big Red, passionate fanbase wondering what the hell happened to their program. Have hung on despite the program crashing hard. There are a lot of similarities between our programs, and our fans.

Got a soft enough schedule to win 7 for sure. The yellow teams I think would probably be predicted losses at this point. If they don't stumble against Northwestern and go into that Oklahoma game undefeated they could have some momentum going into the tougher back-half of the schedule.

Could also see them opening the season 2-2 and it just getting harder to find a win to end the season. Rutgers is a sleeping giant!!!

Fair.

Posting this for others unaware of the 2021 Huskers. What a strange team...

I'd launch the Special Teams Coach(es) into the sun.

We would all be on suicide watch if we had that type of season.

Gotcha… But I have never heard anyone give him credit for creating it, just dominating the genre. Those that created the music deserve their credit also.

Not saying he was given credit as a creator. I'm just sharing my opinion that someone who never wrote a song should not be crowned as the genre's "king". That's all.

I just never knew that mattered to anyone. Never heard anyone say that. McCartney would have to be at the top of the list if so, right? Or are you going back to the beginning?

Well, it's not something that I've ever lost sleep over, lol.

But yah. I think McCartney and Lenon would be RnR royalty. As would Page. Hendrix. Hell, I'd throw Brian Wilson in there before Elvis if we were crowning royalty.

I guess, as I see it, you crown someone "king" you're basically giving him credit for the genre, or at least credit for its definition. And I just don't see saddling that credit on the one who parroted the ones who were actually creating and defining it. Does the creator get that credit, or the creator's parrot? (However great that parrot may be at parroting...)

But I'm not here to define what measures anyone else use to enthrone their king/queen. You pay your tribute based on your values...
