Hedy Lamarr, often proclaimed “the most beautiful woman in the world.” The 26-yr-old Lamarr was thriving in Hollywood when, in September 1940, Nazi U-boats hunted down & sank a cruise ship trying to evacuate 90 British schoolchildren to Canada. 77 drowned in the bleak north Atlantic. Lamarr, a Jewish immigrant from Nazi-occupied Austria, who had been making America her home since 1938, was outraged. She fought back by applying her engineering skills to development of a sonar sub-locator used in the Atlantic for the benefit of the Allies. The principles of her work are now incorporated into modern Wi-Fi, CDMA and Bluetooth technology, and this work led to her to be inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014.

ESPN’s Football Power Index ranks the Vols at No. 25 heading into the season and projects them to win 7.1 games, and the game-by-game predictions for every game on the 2022 schedule are also now out.

  • 2018: Gave Tennessee a better than 50% chance of winning five games and the Vols went 5-7 (the Auburn upset and Vanderbilt loss were the lone “misses” from the preseason projection).
  • 2019: Projected win total for Tennessee was 7.6 and the Vols had a better than 50% chance of winning in nine games – they won seven in the regular season even after losing the first two to Georgia State and BYU.
  • 2020: Predicted the Vols would go 4-6 after the move to the SEC-only schedule, and they went 3-7.
  • 2021: Projected win total was 6.6 games – the Vols won seven games, including two they were given around a 40% chance of winning.

Chance of Tennessee winning:
Ball State 95%
Pitt 37%
Akron 97%
Florida 60%
LSU 32%
Alabama 12%
UT Martin 98%
Kentucky 47%
Georgia 7%
Mizzou 78%
S Carolina 56%
Vandy 88%

ESPN can suck it. They never show Tennessee any respect. Not since they robbed Peyton of his Heisman.

If any of you want to meet me at TYS at 10:30 this morning with a chocolate iced custard filled from Krispy Kreme, I’d be happy to knife fight you in the alley ❤️
My mom had hernia surgery today, so I spent my day at the hospital. I'm sorry I didn't get to knife fight you, but that really should be done at a Waffle House. There's one right there on Alcoa Hwy.

We are looking at refreshing some of our design work and need some graphic design help. If you have graphic design experience or know someone that does, please email me will@spyresports.com.

We can compensate with tickets, gear, money, whatever you’re interested in. Just looking for some options moving forward.

I'll go away from the consensus for that ole Geaux character. I mean HE'S OK. But I would say you reach out to our true artist, @HoleInTheRoof

I doubt Geaux has ever reached his level of excellence as this masterpiece:

It's not really funny tho the disparity. One NBA player could buy an entire team on league minimum. Women's Basketball needs a Pat Summitt. We somewhat equalized the sport here when she was alive and still do because support for the LVs is still very strong. Sell out crowds for women's games. And her personality was so strong that we all loved her and would've followed her to the gates of hell. An upstart sport needs that and the women's game is still in its upstart phase. It will never get there without some Pats but it does also need Britneys.

I mean right now when we look at the WNBA we're looking at an unfinished legacy.

Sure. The NBA was awful when it started too. Took decades to find profitability.

Will the wnba ever be profitable? Possibly. They've had a recent uptick. One question is if the appetite is there for both the college and pro games.

But I 100% agree they need the Griners and Candaces. Regardless, hope Brittany is freed. What a terrible situation. Eff the Putinists.
