I was today years old when I learned that the very first ever World Cup game was won by the United States 3-0 over Belgium in 1930. France also beat Mexico 4-1 that day.

Only 3 European teams participated, and they shared a ship for 15 days from Barcelona to Rio, where they picked up Brazil then went to Uruguay.

The US finished 3rd in the final ranking after losing in the semifinals to Argentina.

Have never been there, it's in between Savannah and Charleston (two places we want to day visit for this vacation), have also been told it's not as crowded or touristy as other beaches in SC.

We like going to different beaches as much as possible. Was originally going to Virginia Beach, but it's colder there in early October than it is here!
Charleston and Savannah are both great cities to visit. Sister cities I believe.

9 wins would be overachieving
A bit yeah. Vegas would say about 26% chance for 9+ wins. Then again I can't get over how we were just 3 ref calls from 10 wins last year. Things outside of our control.

We've also waited 15 years to beat our season expectations by any more than 1.0 games. I'd bet every other SEC team has had a surprise season at least once during that span. We have to eventually right....right? 😂

Yeah, and my mention of Pat White wasn't to say he was their best RB it was more to say that Slaton's success GREATLY benefitted from being in the same backfield with White (same could be said the other way).

When I think of best RB I usually want a guy that got his, did it for more than just a season and was never a 2nd option. It's why LT at TCU is a no brainer and a huge miss by that Twitter graph creator.

Cause when LT was there he was TCU football and even with that being the case still got his despite facing defenses trying to shut him down every week.
Not stumping for Slaton. Thought he was a decent talent but there had to be better historically.

Very cool. Didn't realize the UK teams didn't even join FIFA for the first few tournaments either. Weird.

Oh damn! We'll be there (Hilton Head) in October, I just booked it last night though with the Vacation Company.

If you stay anywhere near Harbor Town make sure you book a dinner at Quarterdeck. They recently renovated and it’s hard to get in without reservations. It’s a nice place, great views, and worth the effort.

We’re going to book for fall break so we’ll be there sometime in Oct as well.

Truly feel like the only two teams I'd objectively count as losses are Alabama and Georgia.

But I also think if things go right we can beat every team on the schedule. But "things go right" is a vague term and if anything last season showed me just how much still is out of our control.

YES, anyone with restaurant recommendations please supply.

I always make a list and then read up on each spot and pick the favorites we want to try. Wide open too on options. Typically on beach trips I like seafood spots, but if it's a great restaurant I don't mind.

(no Applebee's though, it's a given we'll be eating good in the neighborhood)

They have Ruby Tuesday's there?

Huge piece that drops every year. Signifies the season growing closer, also an excellent predictor of the National Champion. Looks like we are one Top-10-ish class away from being on this list next year. Need to string a couple of Top 10 classes together to get into that 50%+ group, which we are on a great trajectory to do. As you can see, the teams that have won with 50-70%, as opposed to dominant Bama/UGA teams, has been lead by an elite QB. We have an elite QB coming in. Couple more classes and an elite Nico could mean Championship hopes soon!

We have a long way to go. I believe our BCR is in the 30% range but if we continue to recruit like this then we can close the gap to 60% fairly quickly.

There's a dolphin sunset cruise that serves food and alcohol that is good for a romantic evening. If you have kids with you there's a separate dolphin cruise during the day that they'll think is cool.

Don't know where you're located on the island, but we like to rent bikes and ride down the beach to South Beach, maybe swing by Salty Dog area, then ride back through beautiful Sea Pines. Might be a trek though, dunno.

Hilton Head is LOADED with good restaurants.

There's an old jazz club called Jazz Corner (I think that's it) that is pretty impressive with fantastic drinks.

Hudson's and Skull Creek Boathouse. Charlie's.

We had the Sage Room one night it's pretty good. There's a diner on the main road that I can't recall now but it had good pancakes and breakfast, just a classic diner.

We usually do a day down by the Lighthouse - there's a good restaurant and shops around there. Watch the boats come in.

A day around the Salty Dog. Good drinks, easy going.

Fish Camp is cool but kind of ducked away. The Oyster House or whatever it's called down the street from Fish Camp is good too.

The Bar-Muda Triangle is about as close to a wild time as you can have on the island. If you have some steam to blow off or want some drinks, hang with locals, there's enough bars to catch a sporting event if needed.

On the south end of the island you’ll want to hit the Salty Dog Cafe mainly just to get a beer and a t-shirt so you can join the cult. I wouldn’t book a dinner around this place but lunch would be fine.

Auburn is really the one who’s presence on the list just pisses me off, crooked SOB’s. Florida is the one team that I want to pass the most on this list though, and I can’t wait until we do.

@Freak this is my primary ad these days, no option to X it out. The wife gives me irritated glances when she sees this lady on my screen so often. Any chance I can get some food ads? I'm actually trying to gain weight at the moment.
