TN Commit David Oku

I have never heard anything positive about Foster or Coker off the field..Creer on the other hand is said to be very quite and stays outa trouble. I think he has all the tools and now coaching to be great.

I like Creer a great deal but haven't seen him do anything yet that suggests he is a real threat to get to the corner against the better D's UT plays. Certainly not in the league of Coker in that regard.

Coker would be so awesome had he stayed in a smoke-free zone.

With our O-line play last year, it's hard to know what Creer and Hardesty can do. Hardesty hits the hole so fast (or gets to the pileup at the line of scrimmage last year so fast), that he can be a solid back if he can stay healthy.

I still very much want Oku. Yes it has taken a long time, yes we have some good backs now, but RB's get hurt, and it never hurts to have more talent.

I'm anxious to see how much coaching can do to improve this offense. If they can improve as much as Cut did with Ainge and company, we won't be that bad next year. But, we are talking about improving what might have been the worst offense ever fielded at UT.

So much has to do with the O-line. If they play up to potential, we're not going to be a bad team (e.g. at least better than the chick-fil-a bowl).

Yep. It's not like playing time should be an excuse for either of these guys. If both came, they'd both play quite a bit at UT.

If they don't, 2010 is when we'll need stock some serious talent in the UT offense (QB, RB, WR, Oline... come one, come all).

I really think that even though the line lacks depth, there is great potential there. The Clausen experiment was the reason for such bad line play last year. Once we go back to traditional blocking schemes....holes will open.

I'm guessing these O-line guys are putting the time in on S&C. It seems they did last year, but all that work didn't show last fall--and I agree it was likely the scheme.

We will still be using the zone blocking scheme. However what will help us is that we won't have OL's shifting all over the place. I am still not sold on the talent of the OL though. The run blocking will have to improve dramatically and the pass blocking needs to improve as well. The low sack numbers from 2 years ago had a lot to do with getting the ball out quick. With that being said, I do believe we will be a more physical team this year. You might see some missed blocks, but I think you will also see some push from the line this year. Something we haven't seen in a while around here.

good post crparker. it seems like we had a problem a couple of years ago with the O linemen either being good a pass protection or run protection, but not both.

It keeps UT in the news -- but this is getting to be a joke.

This thread is at 168 pages, Bryce Brown is only at 160 pages. Oku should feel the love!

If neither one wants to sign and be a Vol because of a love for the Univ........I want neither one. Sign some where else. UT has RB's and next year can find someone better!

MAKE A DECISION! GROW UP!

Easy he is a 18 year old kid....no way we would not be thrilled to have either him or Brown.

I hope for the best and we get 1 of the 2. They will make this team more dynamic.

Did BB change his announcement date? 16 March stated on the show the other night.

Charles announces on the 6 March. That could be an influence on either one of this individuals as far as momentum.

Nice observation.... moreover, Oku's thread doesn't have 77 posts that try to sell him on Oregon's program in it.

This has probably been mention somewhere on all these pages of posts, but here goes anyway. Has anyone realized that Oku and BB are both part of that Potential Players.com website. I am sure they are in collusion and I can guarantee they do not wide up at the same school.

Yes, it's been mentioned several times.

Sorry guys, I just did not feel like wading through 168 pages of mostly off topic discussion to find if it had been mentioned before. My apologies.
