2022 NFL Offseason Thread

That sucks, was hoping they would do the red from the 70’s

Probably coming in 2023. Lots of teams were going to roll out throwbacks this year but are pushing to next year. Bucs are supposed to bring back the Bucco Bruce uniforms, Patriots are bringing back the Pat the Patriot uniforms, Eagles are bringing back the Kelly Green/Randall Cunningham era uniforms, and Titans are rumored to be bringing back Oiler throwbacks.

Watson said something like "expect it, there will be another next week."

This lawyer is playing this very, very well. He'll have another one pop up every news cycle. He's keeping it in the news and putting the pressure on.

There is A LOT to say about this as a Browns fan, but it comes down to we really don't have a say. All we can do is sit back, cry a little, and drink another glass. You do not want to disparage any woman from coming forward and testifying, and you do not want to deny any woman the right to accuse him.

On the other side, The Browns plan is to put this off as long as possible. You cannot suspend a man before he has even gone to court. The man is innocent until proven guilty. He may wind up with 50 accusers before this is over. Just expect another claim every news cycle until this goes to court. The longer that takes, the more likely he plays. You cannot take any action until guilt is proven.

Watson and the Browns still do not sound worried.

Also... there is a very strong subset of "baker bro's", that are convinced that if they can get Watson suspended, the Browns will be forced to play Bake. So there is a "breakaway" browns fan base working against the club.

I didn't know hand jobs were illegal, but I'll keep that in mind, and put it on the list of "don't do's". Unfortunately we just jumped waaaaayyyy beyond 50 lol. The talk in Cleveland is the Browns didn't see this coming, and it could void his contract depending on language. The money... is not so important to fans. I didn't make the deal, however.... all those draft picks are GONE. losing draft picks will cause a riot in Cleveland.

The NFL suspended Ezekiel Elliott without him even being charged. And that after their own investigator cast doubt on the veracity of the accusations.

I had to go review the caee and wound up on wiki, but ... "His suspension stemmed from accusations of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend on five occasions in 2016. NFL officials conducted a year-long investigation into the allegations"

They have suspended many a player without them being charged. If he plays this season, what a terrible look for the NFL.

It’s written in the CBA that criminal charges do not need to be filed. It’s completely under the commish’s discretion.
Responsibility for discipline was changed in the last CBA. There's now a Disciplinary Officer selected by jointly by the NFL and NFLPA but the NFL (i.e., Goodell or his hand selected rep) can change/reduce/extend any decision from the Disciplinary Officer as long as the officer decides a punishment is warranted. The players now have no appeal if any additional punishment is added by the NFL.
