You don’t have to hit the ball out of the park to drive the ball….. Tony Gwynn would make it bc he is the greatest slap hitter of all time….. There is a reason that slap hitters are not around very much at all anymore…. There are virtually no hit and runs…. Players are taught to never hit it on the ground.

The reason why I was excited about TV being hired…. He believed in all that “technical” garbage….. That’s a big part of the reason why we have hit so well…. Every program that TV has been involved in has crushed the ball out of the park…. Same thing with pitching…. Speed with maximum rotations that you throw for strikes and dare the other team to hit it…..This team will never be a finesse paint e corners type of team. It’s also why Dave Serrano failed…. He played that old school small ball which didn’t work anymore…. The game had passed him by…. No different than Phil still trying to do what worked in 1990….. you either keep growing or you get left behind.

Fun fact..I twice drove by the spot where the cover pics of "Joshua Tree" were taken last year. It is on a high plain that sits in the mountains between Death Valley National Park and Lone Pine California. The actual Joshua tree that is on the cover is dead now.

Yeah that was my thought when i read this. Sankey is basically an arm of the Bama AD. So we know any national legislation he supports won't be in TN's best interest.

The way you Swing a bat doesn’t determine if you walk or not….. They want you to walk or drive the ball…. They don’t want you hitting it on the ground bc that leads to Double plays…. The stat you need to go by is ops% bc it adds together a players on base % and slugging %….. Look at Oscar Albies of the Braves….. he is 5’8 165 with decent speed…. 30 years ago…. He would be a slap hitter and using his wheels but in todays game he has good bat path and drives the baseball.

Nah, I think “Hail Mary” is an appropriate description. Most legislators probably don’t want to get involved (this isn’t a vote winner), and the ones that do seem to favor liberalizing college athlete compensation.
