Hey, Morans. My basal carcinoma biopsy came back with still present cancer cells. My doctor is recommending Mohs surgery or possibly radiation. I am already leaning towards the Mohs, but wanted to know if anyone had advice before I make my final decision. @VolsDoc81TX

Thank you.

Mohs. My choice for sure. That’s what they did on the back of my ear.

That is what I am reading. It might lead to more scarring, but I am pretty ugly as it is, so not too concerned about that.

So kinda funny, I have three circular scars, two on my right arm and one on my chest. If I hold my right arm up, they line up. I tell people that ask me about the scars that’s where I got shot. Then follow up with you know that I am from Memphis… cannot believe how many people just nod about Memphis and gunshots…😂

Just 3 perfectly placed basal cell scars…🤠

I'm more surprised by people from Memphis who haven't been shot. Those are the unicorns.

I had the Mohs surgery at Baylor Scott & White in 2019 for BCC on my nose. I would recommend it. In my case had they not done Mohs they likely would not have removed all the BCC. The surgeon made his initial cut sent it to the lab then came back to make an additional cut. The time between the first and second cut was about 20 minutes, Face was sore, very swollen, and I had two black eyes. Pain was minimal. I would definitely chose Mohs if I ever have BCC again.
Thank you and thanks to everyone else who have offered this advice and prayers. I have decided to do Mohs. I will let everyone know how it goes. You all have already helped me so much.

I've had guns flashed at me in Boston and Taos but never in Memphis. I was once conveyed a warning in Memphis that went something like this: "Next time you come down here your friend best be stayin' in the car." Jeez, I just got out for a moment or two to stretch!

I had a melanoma more than 10 years ago (I think that makes me a survivor). I get the head to toe check every year now (!), but no recurrence. My scar went away 90%. Best wishes to you.

Edit: Doc said, "That is the most perfect example I have ever seen. Mind if I bring my students in to see it?" I said, "Anything for science, doc. Glad to be of service." She laughed.

You'll be fine. Heart goes out to you and your better half in the meantime.
Much appreciated

No, actually technically speaking they are true bugs in the family hemiptera. Beetles are coleoptera.
