Rick needs to pull some magic out of his ass. Being reported (in the BB forum) that Barnes backed off Collins because SLU AD was crying that he "tampered". Collins was going to be KC's replacement. As of now, no replacement has been identified, and just like with football, players need to be in the portal within the next week to be eligible next year. Also being said we won't land Julian Philips because of NIL.

This is a special team, and for everyone worried about them peaking early, I think today answers that. They just refuse to lose!

My son asked me earlier who I thought the teams star is, and thinking it over, I told him there are about 10 of them. If you think about it, there have been multiple “Heros” throughout the year and that’s why I’m so optimistic on this teams future.
The correct answer is Mike Honcho.

I have started a debate over in the Baseball forum. Surely one of you morans knows the answer. Tidwell only went 4.2 innings on Saturday but left with the lead and was credited with the win. How can this be?
When the starter doesn't go 5 innings the official stat guy has the ability to pick the winning pitcher based on effectiveness or whatever other metric they want to use.

Is there anyone in here who has looked up greatest baseball seasons of all time by one team? College baseball is a niche sport IMO, but I was just curious how this team stacks up with some of the best teams of all time. 37-3 up to this point has to be one of the more dominant seasons a team has had so far.

Texas

Record: 66-14
Head Coach: Cliff Gustafson
Best Players: Roger Clemens, Calvin Schiraldi, Mike Brumley, Billy Bates, Jeff Hearron, Kirk Killingsworth, Jose Tolentino
Championship: 12-0 (W), 6-5 (W), 6-4 (W), 4-2 (W), 4-3 (W)
This is the third time we’re mentioning a Texas Longhorns team and the second time we’re mentioning a team coached by Cliff Gustafson. The 1983 Texas Longhorns finished the regular season 49-12 — including 18-3 in the Big 12. They won 13 of their last 15 regular season games.
The Longhorns then went 3-1 in the SWC Tournament, 5-1 in the Central Regional, and 5-0 in the College World Series. Roger Clemensand Calvin Schiraldi were drafted in the first round of the 1983 MLB Draft, Mike Brumleywent in the second round, and Jeff Hearron in the fourth.

Best way to start the day if you're a peasant.

Back in the day…… it use to mean something to be a starting pitcher…. They were the big deal on a staff….. a quality start was considered 6 innings and you couldn’t win if you couldn’t even muster 5 innings…. Now some teams use relievers to pitch one inning at a time for an entire game…. Still if the rule says he must complete five innings to get the win….. it’s beyond silly to allow a coach to just say he was on a pitch count so give him the win anyways…. I miss pitchers like Nolan Ryan who once threw 235 pitches in a game.
Relievers get wins all the time for pitching less. Get out of here with that mess.
