A winning baseball team in March and April is great, but I’d rather have the BaseVols winning in May and June.

23 game winning streaks and #1 rankings don’t matter very much if you don’t win in Omaha.

Which has been the problem with nearly all of those great teams that had big regular season win streaks - they didn't win the ring.

Hope we look back at yesterday and see it as the kick in the arse they needed to realize they have to get to work, to overcome adversity, and to not let up when it matters whether it be the first inning or the last. Every opponent they face will now be using every junk ball pitcher they have on them the rest of the season because they saw our hitters be so undisciplined with dumb approaches at the plate.

I knew we'd drop another game, hell they'll probably lose again. And I figured it was more likely to be to a lesser team we play in a single game setup.

Ya roll into a SEC series and all their fans chirping at you on social media and all the talking heads chirping it's a bit easier to get up for those games. Get that chip on the shoulder mindset. But a midweek with a team that's not going to have much buzz is a different beast.
We are probably going to lose 10+ games at least. The team as a whole is cooling off at the plate from the insanely torrid pace that was set early on...but it will still be a very good offense.

We are going to be running into more teams with good to very good pitching...and just like our guys, those guys are hard to hit when they are on.

I love that we got off to a great start, but I think a lot of the fans that just started following, and know little about high level baseball, will not understand the fundamental realities of baseball and will fall iff the wagon just as quick as they jumped on.

I love this team for re-igniting my long dormant love of the game. I just can't get into the revolving door of modern MLB, and now we have a fun team to watch that are Volunteers.

I think I read this correctly.

So what you are saying is RSR needs to be fired?

I want to assure everyone, that even though the BaseVols dropped a game last night I am as committed as ever to having TV's baby. I know TV and the BaseVols will get back on track this weekend vs the gumps and the baby will be doing somersaults in celebration. I am considering a c-section though and would welcome any thoughts on the situation.

Yes I played. Probably at a higher level than you’d think. Not saying it’s easy. Many of those pitches were filthy. I’d like to think they’d seen better pitching than a guy with a 9ERA. We swung at some absolutely awful pitches tonight and the pitcher threw some really good ones. It can be both. The ump definitely loved that outside “corner“. The catcher would catch it behind the plate on the corner sometimes but when it’s swooping in 5 inches off the plate nearly coming in at an angle it’s not a strike and never crossed over the plate at all many times.
That happened so many times and was frustrating. We also showed a lack of discipline swinging at the low breaking ball so much.

I have two questions for you mother -to-be.
1. What are your plans for the placenta? I have read it can be of great benefit for medical purposes.
2. And most importantly, aren't you going to be missing out on one of life's great pleasures..............the breast milk?

Tayven's arm strength looks subpar in this limited sample imo, puts alot of air on the ball on deep throws to compensate

Maybe they lost when TV caught wind of your plan!

Well then you should know that 💩ty games like this happen...this ain't even close to the best offense that I've seen shut down by a guy with a stratospheric ERA, and it won't be the last bad game at the plate against crappy pitching this season.

How many times did you o'fer against a spaghetti armed junkballer getting good calls and bad swings?
Man, there’s probably nothing that frustrated me more than losing to a junkballer when I played. It’s just the game and it happens. I’ve been on the other side of that as well. A coach would pick one of our junkballers to throw against a good team and I would just know we were going to lose. Then he has the game of his life and we do just enough to win. It’s crazy.
