Hopefully they’ll learn from seeing the junk throws. I remember last season we were on a hot streak with winning conference series only to lose a that midweek game to Lipscomb. This feels like deja vu.

Yes, feels very much like Lipscomb last year. It’s crazy how those plucky little in-state teams can do what Vandy and Ole Miss can’t, etc.

True, most don't know that Strawberry Plains was actually first settled in Jefferson County although part of it is in Knox and Sevier Counties.

Interesting. I didn’t realize it goes into Sevier.

Sounds a lot like Oliver Springs which is in Roane, Morgan and Anderson Counties.

It’ll be interesting to see how this team responds after this loss. It’s been so long since they lost. I bet they will bounce back, but we’ll find out soon.

They will definitely bounce back. Sometimes losses like this help a team more than they hurt. This loss may ground them and cause them to get their focus back. Again, it’s baseball. That’s why championships are played out in a series of games….because on a single given night, anything can happen. They will be just fine. Law of averages was bound to get them at some point.

I missed Liam Spence leading us off night. He was so patient at the plate and always gave the rest of lineup a chance to look at all the different types of pitches.

Christian Moore is very talented, but impatient. I think it set the tone for the rest of the guys tonight.

Who cares about TTU? Assuming we’re not going 55-1 (which we weren’t going to do, obviously), I’d much rather drop a game to them than Bama, Florida, Georgia, etc. left on our schedule. The wood bats seemed fun until they didn’t, but that would have been a garbage performance at the plate even if we had been swinging 90s aluminum.

This team has definitely looked a little less sharp in the last week or so (all relative, of course) — hopefully this is the mid season slump!

Drylo said it best. I would rather break the "streak" pressure on a non-conference team. Let's focus on the conference instead of a streak. I say that the boys get a fire in their belly and look out Bama.

Cliff notes: Said players might now listen more closely to what he’s been saying lately. It wasn’t the wooden bats—- If metal bats were used, we would have lost 6 to 5. Just weren’t swinging bats well tonight.
