Poor showing tonight but even with us playing our worst game of the season we still only lost by a single run. 9 times out of 10 we are going to score more than 2 runs so I’m not worried. As long as we win our SEC series I don’t care what we do in the midweek games. We have such a huge lead in conference we could get swept by Alabama and still be in 1st place.

In all seriousness you try to win every game, but player development during the season is more important during the mid-week tune ups. We can make excuses or we can give em credit and move on to the more important weekend series. I think the latter is less stressful

You forgot to add "if" in that sentence - but I agree. Momentum is a funny thing - you can't necessarily turn it off & on. I do think Tony wanted this team to face adversity before crunch time hits. We shall see how they respond.

What they did in 2018 has absolutely nothing to do with their team this year. This Tech team has already lost as many games as that team did all season and already has more OVC loses.

Yeah true. Knoxville-esque anyway. LNS and Smokies Stadium are closer together than Straw Plains and Turkey Creek, and both of those are technically in city of Knoxville.

I think you have to give the pitcher his due. The ump was calling the high strike, so the ball was coming out of his hand high and dropping. Batters aren’t going to swing at those. The pitches initially in the zone were swung at and dropping, and they were great pitches.

I don't have a problem with those pitches - the outside ones were given way too much leeway imo.

Never did adjust to the changeup, sinker, whatever it was. He threw a bunch of first pitch balls that could have been crushed. Still not fast balls, but, good balls to hit. Instead, decided to sit back and swing at balls in the dirt, behind in the count.
