I cannot stop laughing at TrentBatt this AM. I really cannot stop laughing. Poor little beta can't handle baseball players having fun - unless it was his team of course.

I know my Cubbie/Card/Dodger/whatever friends on here will absolutely hate this statement, but what's true is true. Our Diamond Vols are currently the college equivalent of the Big Red Machine with much better equivalent pitching than those great teams had. Those BRM teams had incredible chemistry, resolve, and an in your face - don't care that you think attitude. They had a lot of fun doing it, just like our guys.

I think baseball needs MORE teams and players like the baseVols because baseball, on the whole, is tragically boring IMO. To engage modern fans they’ve baseball has to get off their “unwritten rules”/code of conduct high horse and become more interesting.

Tony V has seen the Ole Miss crazy football game antics, (and had fun with it) he's watched the VOLS win the SEC championship (and ha worn a Z tee-shirt) He really is the gem of our program right now. College world Series with a team nobody expected and breaking all kinds of records. Other teams whining that our VOLS are too cocky, etc. They would love to have him. He's young, fun and one of the best coaches out there. If he wants a DJ for his team practices, I'm sure our AD would be happy to get him one.

It’s overused but the old “they hate us cuz they ain’t us” is really true for this baseball team! Opponents’ sour grapes are a bad whine.

If Tony was on another team, I would only hate him because he’s so good. He’s a more quiet Pearl minus BBQ’s and chest painting.

CVT is an absolute gem. We must keep him at all costs because he is one of those coaches that not only improves his own team, but synergizes with other teams as well.

We better keep him, because I am not moving and I am not raising this baby by myself.

This is the whole issue imo. Baseball has an image problem and would be more universally embraced if fans would quit falling all over themselves to police/gatekeep the sport. As I've said before, I love baseball and I don't think its boring at all. However, the MLB has no idea how to market the game and it's players and the fans are complicit because God forbid any young players have fun playing a game.

Is TV had been hired by Vandy…. the overwhelming majority of our fans would be hating the antics as well….. I, personally, love it and feel it is great for all sports…. Sportsmanship is great and all but I want teams to hate each other…. I love the competitiveness, brashness, and trash talk….

I wish the pros would get back to old style baseball….. plays at the plate…… taking out the double play at second base….. get back to letting players police themselves….. get rid of replay bc I enjoyed managers coming out of the dugout kicking dirt and throwing bases…. All the action has been removed from the game…. As for the organization….. hype your star players as much as possible….. make it easier for fans to engage on social media….. support little leagues more….. they could really build a massive league….Baseball is my favorite sport.

He's funny but more respectful then Kiffin, and he's UT supportive, but goodlooking and not as sweaty/cheaty as Pearl. (female perspective)

Basically I barely ever watch college baseball or even MLB until September. This team actually has me watching, not just because of the winning, but they are actually entertaining and just fun to watch.
