I get a frantic email over the weekend from a customer who uses my product as a component in their product, which apparently SpaceX uses to make rocket parts. My customer apparently gets calls from top brass at SpaceX, who gets calls from Elon himself. In explaining why I'm struggling to get product out, I mention that a major semiconductor manufacturer has us on allocation, which is a fancy way of saying No Soup for SSVol. Next thing I know, a fellow from the chip company, whose title is a three letter acronym ending in 'O', is involved and might be able to get us chips. So I'm close to a guy, who is close to a guy, who is close to Elon. I'm practically a celebrity. Be nice to me or I'll have Will Smith slap you.

My sister, when she lived in LA and Elon was merely on the comeup, was hit on by him at a party. His wife at the time was standing right there and he literally asked for a threesome out loud. Apparently they had an open marriage. Sister laughed at him and walked away disgusted. She didn't say it to him, but said he was ugly as hell and wouldn't have slept with him if he was the last man on earth 🤣

Oh I'm way past that haha.

Not that race distinctly = culture. And there are other varying factors here. There is discrimination, for instance, against southerners and less investment here. That said, no doubt if, say, the broader white American culture took on the best of asian or jewish cultures, I think it would be improved. Whites lag behind some other "races" in the U.S., though for various reasons...I do agree with you culture plays some important part of that, especially in the south.

Waste of time. Wouldn't expect much less from a TN legislator though...reminds me of them spending time trying to pass a Dolly Parton bill in the middle of the pandemic and Dolly had to come out and tell them "thanks, but please get back to work" 🤣

Not to mention the NCAA constitutional change already covers this area.

Also don't get taking away anonymous sources. Good luck finding any sources at all at that point. Cheating will just become more rampant probably.

I do agree a faster process would be nice. But that means more resources...from the universities/ncaa...clearly they don't want that, never have, but I agree the student-athletes deserve it.

The universities will fight everything tooth and nail until it comes to this lol.

I’d probably lean towards not playing, but he’s surely giving it some real thought. “Exhausting every effort”.. is what sources close to him are saying. Hope he does. Even though his chances of winning, let alone even getting towards top 10 is extremely slim I’d imagine because of his injuries and how long he’s been playing since, I’d still love to see him out there and playing again.

I have no doubt that real bias exists (in whatever form: racism, sexism, ageism, regional, etc), but I am also certain that much of what we attribute to bias is actually legitimate concern about cultural fitness. It's easier to talk about when it's southern white people, but it equally applies throughout cultural groups, whether those are race centered or not. It gets very hot very fast, however, if you extend that conversation to certain minority cultures and how culture may be more of an impediment to success than the much more popular ABC-isms that dominate the discussion.
