I wonder if Mincey is going to play there.
Back in the day, Majors and Fulmer (when he was OL coach) would periodically move guys from DL to the OL. Curious if that has been considered. I'm sure it has. Coaches are smarter than me, but...........Ah yes, I forgot about him. Probably the plan, as of now.
It doesn't matter what you think and feel...AP has said it several times and DW has said it before the Vandy transfer were thought of...DW prefers RT and that is why he's been repping exclusive there this spring. @mr.checkerboardsAnd yet, I don't think they would move Wright away from LT if they felt it meant we now expect to get worse performance on the left side.

Hmm maybe. The bylaw doesn't seem to distinguish with whether or not you received a prior waiver or excpetion, just whether or not you transferred previously from a 4 year institution.
That said, the Grad Transfer Waiver seems easy to clear. Would be some total BS if he didn't get a waiver...again.
Wright being willing to play either side of the OL is a big help though. A guy like Steen is likely looking to find a spot playing LT, because he's gonna wanna enter the draft after this season. Wright will have the ability to return for a 5th season, not sure if he will but he could.
So I think Steen will want to go somewhere he can start, I'm sure other schools are selling him that he can start but we have an obvious need.
I believe Sowell's argument is based on culture.
I don't see how one could deny cultures tend to inform folks of norms of behavior, especially when conflict arises.
I've never thought of it as a secret as to how Scots-Irish culture preciptated the region, especially in terms of conflict. The Hatfield and McCoys aren't just a family, but a stereotype of how conflicts arise and are handled. Even research shows a higher rate of violence in the southeast when it comes to 2 individuals that know each other and have a conflict.
Has nothing to do with intelligence, as Sowell points out. Same as for other groups that he points out. It is about culture in his opinion. I don't see anything wrong with critiquing our culture, especially as an Appalachian Scots-Irish. I think it could be better, as a whole. Even America in general. Too much about popularity, and yes even sports, not enough about praising everyday careers like doctors, engineers, accountants, teachers, computer programmers, IT, etc. Basically pushing education as a higher thing to reach for rather than praying and pouring in tons of resources to other things. That's jmo but there are a few cultures, even within America, that are superior in some ways. I'm not afraid to say it. We could do better.
Lot simpler game back then. The skill sets were extremely similar. Not so much in the modern game.Back in the day, Majors and Fulmer (when he was OL coach) would periodically move guys from DL to the OL. Curious if that has been considered. I'm sure it has. Coaches are smarter than me, but...........
I honestly believe they want to play them at their best fit. They wanted to honor Cade’s desire to play OG but (like Darnell) weren’t enabled. If they can get competent performance at LT from others, it pays for itself by maximizing production at RT. Just my take. And yet, I don't think they would move Wright away from LT if they felt it meant we now expect to get worse performance on the left side.
They realize hell is coming
