War in Ukraine

They made the mistake of giving out unbiased reporting. That is why they were banned/blocked in the first place.

After 12 hours of campaign and 25K posts in support, tech giant YouTube unblocks WION
Seems to me YouTube followed their guidelines by blocking them. They were banned because they provided video of the Russian foreign minister saying "We did not attack Ukraine either. We explained on numerous occasions that there was a situation that posed a direct threat to the security of the Russian Federation."

YouTube's guidelines: "Our community guidelines prohibit content denying, minimizing, or trivialising well-documented violent events, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, adding,"Under this policy, we have removed content, for example, denying that Russia invaded Ukraine or alleging that Ukrainian victims are crisis actors."

Yeah, their community guidelines. I don't care about rules, guidelines or laws if those rules, guidelines and laws are unjust.

I think it is 100% justifiable for a company to refuse to provide a platform for known propaganda if they wish.

Whose to say what is propaganda and what isnt? Also, everyone know these guidelines arent enforced equally. You can go on YouTube and talk about all sorts of pro Ukrainian propaganda, hell YouTube will likely propogate it themselves and bump it into your feed as recommended.

I think it's 100% justifiable for a private company to refuse to provide a platform to anyone they choose for any reason they choose.

People can always go to MySpace if they don't like Facebook. By the way, how is MySpace doing these days?
