War in Ukraine

NATO left the cold war mentality behind when the wall fell. The only ones with imperial ambitions seem to be the Russians. Why cant they leave the cold war behind, join nato, and stop wasting blood and treasure on this pointless conquest of ukraine?

Thank god all they have is shovels and washing machine parts, so that seems to be not possible - see this thread. Beard appears to claim that Ukrainians have the Russians right where they want them.

It would seem like our work here is done and we can exit stage left.

The path that is being taken Blackrock won't be a player in the Ukraine, maybe after Europe collapses. The Ukraine was sold a very long time ago either way.
I don’t know. My guess is is that it’s an attempt to call dibs on the scraps. Putin is going to want a say too. City of London as well but they’re rapidly becoming neutralized.

If one goes through their whole defense (meat) than there isn't anything to negotiate, it would be unconditional surrender. There would be no scraps remaining, that is the current path. I would think at some point it would make more sense to just continue until they get to the Polish border. No more Ukrainians, No more Ukraine, Problem solved.

If they have some type of stalemate they're owned by the West, if they lose they will probably have to learn to speak Polish.

Sounds like sovereignty.

Now, go down to a major bank with currency swap services, and try to exchange USD for Rubles; let us know how that goes for you.

The Chinese can swap for rubles and trade with Russia, and their trade surplus is over $1 trillion for the first 11 months of 2025, up 21.7% from the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, US manufacturing is tanking as the tariffs are a sales tax on Americans and add massive input costs for US manufacturers.

Meanwhile, in Germany...

Two years ago, NorthDallas40 and others were celebrating a falling Russian ruble hitting 100 to the USD as "proof" of the Russian economy collapsing under the weight of isolation by the Western countries. Now, the ruble has gained 48.7% against the USD in 2025 as more and more European factories shutter due to impossible energy costs and reopen in BRICS countries for access to cheap Russian energy. The USD has fallen as well, as Trump lobbies for rate cuts, massive spending increases, and increased money printing that inflate the US dollar.

That's an old video.

Ukrainian women actually were brave enough to go there this week, but not Zelensky. 😅
