This table looks at our opponents this year compared to how they did last year (offense & defense) and measures the improvement or regression Bill Connelly’s SP+ projects for each team’s unit this year.

I used the FPI rankings for end of year last year and offensive and defensive performance from CFBstats. The table is sorted on the 2022 SP+ overall preseason ranking.

Connelly thinks we’ll have the 3rd best offense in the nation this year. He thinks our defense will improve from #90 to #42 and collectively that will make us the 9th best team in the nation for 2022.

He thinks Florida and South Carolina will see significant improvement on offense this year and Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, and maybe LSU, will see significant improvement on defense.

He thinks Pitt loses a bit on offense compared to last year and Georgia loses a bit on defense.

If we could accidentally discover a Hendon Hooker type defensive player on our roster this year we might be able to surprise one or both of the two nemeses ranked above us. jmo.

And stayed in after Eason was healthy all the way to the NC game. I’d say he won it. Qualifier was “true freshman QB who started in the SEC”

Thank you all so much! He’s home with his Savior he said he did not deserve. Loved “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross” so much!! It was peaceful for him, and we were all with him. And I just wanted y’all to know when I was thinking of who to tell, this fantastic group of Volunteers was right there with family!!!

My favorite version, sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to you and your family, thankful he's in a better place and no longer suffering.
