NET rankings disagree. As does KenPom. And every other prediction site to be found...

Should Texas be ahead of us too?

SOR is better. The NET is an index, so the Quad wins are part of the equation, and we are better there. We are better at Torvick, which I believe is also used. Then you add 2/3 head to head. The fact that we are discussing this makes it a case.

Wow...you sound like one of us common sense folks for a change.

How can NET rankings disagree with a hypothetical I just made up?
Because if the "situations" were switched...then UK would be lower. It's not very hypothetical if entire situations (I presume every score...every margin...every win and loss) were swapped. Statistical models don't see names on jerseys.

Statistical models don’t make the brackets…people do. Basketball people are preconditioned to favor Kentucky/Duke/etc over teams like us. And they’ll use what they need to post-hoc rationalize what they already believed.

I know you’re right about how they’re going to justify Kentucky and Duke being ahead of us. But I don’t think it’s equitable or maps to reality.

Which is what lunardi did in front of gawd and everybody lol

Auburn is ahead of us in what? The polls? They're not ahead of us in the NET rankings. They're not ahead of us in Kenpom. So what are they ahead of us in? And like I said, we beat KY 2 out of 3 times. I get what you're saying. We will get screwed. But trying to justify it is a bunch of horse ****. It just is. There is no justification. We SHOULD absolutely be the highest seeded SEC team.
I do agree with Auburn. Haven't paid much attention to them tbh.

Just remember they started absurdly high up, almost #1 overall. Now they look more like Wiscy. Afraid the standard "Wins and Loss" crowd are too high on them because they're 27-5.

The win/loss mentality is too strong for the oldheads over magins and recent wins (sad they no longer publish the "last 10" metric").

I just don’t see how our resume isn’t objectively better than Kentucky’s at this point. We’ve beaten better teams, they’ve lost to worse teams, and we’ve got a 2 of 3 advantage head to head.

I guess the whole world has become “home wins don’t count” people.
It's not about the resumes.....it's about the team name. And they have...... I also think that is horse sh!t.
