Ray Mears is the only other decent (Edit for Weezer: Devoe was a decent(mediocre)coach, but not much more than that, he was mediocre, but not a bad coach, does that satisfy you @Weezer) we have had in my lifetime besides Barnes and Pearl.
I'm sorry, did I accidently piss in your Cheerios or something? Not sure why you seem angry about this.

Other than you always seem angry, lol.

Think his problem was recruiting . Sure did a good job with what he had.
Agree. Coaching wise, he was very good. Just never had a lot of talent beyond one really good player like Dale Ellis. I still remember Ellis playing the 5 against Ralph Sampson. He made the most out of what few players he recruited.

Yeah...agreed. offensively we're hot and cold, and you never really know who is gonna be the guy that steps up on that end of the court. Fulky, KC, SC, JJJ, ZZ...all of them have had games where they were go to guy and took over a game.

So people that don't follow us regularly just don't know us, except to say we're elite on defense but they don't know about our offense.

We're a high assist to scoring team...which means a lot of guys are gonna get opportunities.

We have 3 guards that almost interchangeable and also present different matchup problems depending on who we're playing.

To me...so long as we aren't completely ice cold like we were in December and part of January.....that all makes us a really dangerous team to play in a one and done situation. It also means no one should be surprised if we lost similarly...

you can't look at us and say there's anything we do consistently enough that you can just count on it game in game out. So people can't figure out why we're good. we're a box of chocolates...lol good news...most everything in that box is pretty good.😉
I have said all year that we are a team that could go to the FF or lose in the second round...neither would surprise me.

I disagree with your final statement; we are consistently great on defense, and that is the biggest reason we are good.

If we don't run into a team that is just having one of those weird "in the zone" games like UK had back in our first game, then we are going to be a tough out for anybody.

I am kind of concerned that TA&M is one of those teams that has gotten insanely hot at the perfect time...for them.

Yeah...Devoe wasn't a "bad" coach, but he wasn't a "good" coach either. Overall, he was just mediocre IMO.
Devoe was top yen coach before the shot clock. Like Bob Knight with recruiting wasn’t taking any chances on kids with questionable character. Got to know Coach really well while working his summer camps. Really nice man.

Read an odd stat - we are 0-6 after beating UK under Barnes.

We have a couple of monkeys to get off our back today.

7 pt favorites vs TAMU. 75% favorites. Feels like a golden opportunity...
It feels to me like TAMU is one of those crazy hot teams that you don't want to play in March.

I think this game is a tossup.

SEC and B1G are the only P5 conferences finishing up today. Gonzaga has been resting up since Tuesday night.

I'm surprised we haven't made adjustments to finish up earlier. Imagine being an SEC champ after 3-5 straight days of BRUTAL games...win a title on Sunday exhausted...and have to get back up for a Thursday noon game.

Even if it's just by a day or two, surely we could help ourselves out a little.

Possible. That beatdown of Arky is concerning. Or maybe they are just playing above themselves and are due to come back to the mean.

Haven't followed them, but don't think they suddenly got an injured star back or anything. They were just 5-5 leading into the tourney. Hopefully just a bit of luck and they come back down to earth today.

I don't know, the SEC has had some really great runs in the Dance over the years...maybe it has the opposite effect.
