Right on. Yes, Tennessee Theater would be an awesome place to see them; but, civic auditorium will be cool, too...you should stick around and see Modest Mouse the very next night.

Depending on how things go with my mom, I plan on seeing them at Shaky Knees in Atlanta in May; but, I may not be able to make that.

But, definitely both nights at Red Rocks in Aug, that trip is already planned; and, then Nashville in September.
Heck of a lineup planned. Red Rocks is on my bucket list. It's no RR, but the new Asheville venue is outdoors and just 1 block away, so hoping for good weather.

Shaky was great last year (October). The turnaround to again in May has to be crazy for them. There will also be another festival the same weekend in the other big park just a mile away. It's going to be packed in Atlanta. We thought of getting a day ticket for the other fest just to see Snoop, but decided against.

My opinion of the civic auditorium...is not favorable haha. Tennessee Theater has better audio. But the Bijou has the very best I've ever heard! But too small for MMJ too....

Haven't posted in the last few weeks...I've still tried to keep up with most everything VN the best I could, but...

I came down with covid a few weeks back...went thru and got over that, which wasnt too bad (headaches and sweats were the worst!!!), thank the good Lord; however, then my mom and grandma got it, and it made them pretty sick. Again, thank the Lord, they got over it, and got well. But, then my granny broke her ribs right on the heels of covid, and that was just awful for her, the pain...i can only imagine. Fortunately, she is on the mend, and feeling a bit better.

However, while all of this was going on, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Over the last couple of weeks, we have lived at the Dr office and hospital, getting all of her tests and scans run, leading up to her chemo and radiation treatments, which will begin on the 14th. She will beat this, but she has some tough days ahead.

I have never been one to post my personal life on social media, and debated back and forth about posting this...however, I'm asking all of Vol Nation, if you will, to please keep my mom and my family in your prayers. As we've seen, our Big Orange family can move mountains, and the power of prayer has no bounds. To all of you who are sick and afflicted, or have loved ones who are down, I'm with you...to all of you who are on the mend, I rejoice.

GBO!

Prayers for you and your family!

Are you talking about Rabbit Rabbit in Asheville? It looks like a neat little place. That show, actually, could very well take the place of the Nashville show. That venue looks like a place MMJ likes to destroy (plus, its someplace new), and I haven't been to Asheville in a VERY long time...last show I saw in Asheville was String Cheese, long time ago.

Yeah, I'm taking the entire year off, so traveling and shows are the agenda.

Of Montreal is playing the Bijou in a couple of weeks...that should be pretty cool.

It must be getting close to spring practice. Every year, a month or 2 before spring or fall practice, jokes start being posted.

You can tell how close we are to the start of practice by the time of day the joke is posted. The earlier in the day, the closer to practice beginning. Jokes start showing up around 7am and you know we're only days away. . .

How close are we to crowdfunding a D1 Ice Hockey team Lol.

UT makes actual money off our club hockey team. Not even sure how good they are. I really wish we had more scholarship athletic teams. It has helped the SEC in football I guess.

I do know our club rugby team is winning nattys and having undefeated seasons. Wrestling team is having some success. D1 women's wrestling is a growing NCAA sport and the state of TN is leading the way in high school competition so we could capitalize on that and start a team and own it (like SEC schools own gymnastics and equestrian).
There's a little thing called Title IX that prevents this from happening

Yeah Rabbit Rabbit.

Of Montreal is niiice! Only seen em once but they played a block party right on our block. It was pretty sweet. They are weird in a fantastic way. They should sound great in the Bijou.

Yeah MMJ is too big for the bijou but the Tenney would have been nice. Seen Sturgill and the Avetts in the Tennessee. Dawes and Head and the Heart in the Bijou.
I have seen Cowboy Junkies and Blues Traveler in the Bijou and John Prine, Arlo Guthrie and Collective Soul in the Tennessee. Yes, I am old.
