I just received news that a best friend's wife has breast cancer. Not sure the full extent, but she will be getting a bilateral mastectomy.

They both had just accepted dream jobs to move to Colorado from Kingston and are in the process of packing and selling their house when the news hit. She's an OBGYN and he just got his masters at UT in soil science. He's also a wounded vet. They're in a tough spot right now and need prayers.
Absolutely. Praying for healing, vision, and clarity.

I think it's kind of funny so much was raised that ZZ shut it down.

$351,175 raised

Have to imagine he and his family are a bit shocked by the Volunteer spirit, lol.
And did it in 24 hours! Thats almost $15k per hour. That’s incredible! The power of the T is incredibly strong!

How close are we to crowdfunding a D1 Ice Hockey team Lol.

UT makes actual money off our club hockey team. Not even sure how good they are. I really wish we had more scholarship athletic teams. It has helped the SEC in football I guess.

I do know our club rugby team is winning nattys and having undefeated seasons. Wrestling team is having some success. D1 women's wrestling is a growing NCAA sport and the state of TN is leading the way in high school competition so we could capitalize on that and start a team and own it (like SEC schools own gymnastics and equestrian).

Haven't posted in the last few weeks...I've still tried to keep up with most everything VN the best I could, but...

I came down with covid a few weeks back...went thru and got over that, which wasnt too bad (headaches and sweats were the worst!!!), thank the good Lord; however, then my mom and grandma got it, and it made them pretty sick. Again, thank the Lord, they got over it, and got well. But, then my granny broke her ribs right on the heels of covid, and that was just awful for her, the pain...i can only imagine. Fortunately, she is on the mend, and feeling a bit better.

However, while all of this was going on, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Over the last couple of weeks, we have lived at the Dr office and hospital, getting all of her tests and scans run, leading up to her chemo and radiation treatments, which will begin on the 14th. She will beat this, but she has some tough days ahead.

I have never been one to post my personal life on social media, and debated back and forth about posting this...however, I'm asking all of Vol Nation, if you will, to please keep my mom and my family in your prayers. As we've seen, our Big Orange family can move mountains, and the power of prayer has no bounds. To all of you who are sick and afflicted, or have loved ones who are down, I'm with you...to all of you who are on the mend, I rejoice.

GBO!

Prayers for your mom and family.

i talk to retirees, ex police, trash men in City who cashed out and are building 3 and 4k sq ft homes here in the mountains with money to spare.

Id like to talk to them and see if they are building their houses with straw. In these mountains two/three bedroom cabins is running about 700k.

So the girls BB diatribe was written in a covid induced fever fog. Makes sense.

Thank you all for the prayers!!! We got the best news possible! It was the stint so they replaced it. Then his kidneys started doing better in spite of running the contrast after doing it three weeks ago. He still has a long way to go, but he has always said he was going to live to be a hundred like his uncles (98 and 96) so we hope he will fight through this. Appreciate your prayers!

So the WR coach left or was fired?

The best news of the day. I hope your dad lives a long and prosperous life. If he ever gets bored, sign him up for an account on Volnation. Reading some of the posts here should keep his heart rate going at a pretty good clip. Probably better than walking or running :):):).

Can't really debate. Two different periods.

If Larry Bird played in todays game, he is fouling out in about 15 mins of play. If Lebron played back in the day, then he is getting mauled like a toddler and crying about it all game. I guess it depends who you think can adapt better. (Same goes for the MJ argument)

Old era, you could throw elbows and it would be fine, but now, you can barely make eye contact lol
If you think MJ was inhuman playing back when they could treat him like a human pinball, what do you think he would do in this no physicality-no defense era?
