They were 9 7 5 and 3 when we went. They were able to hike about 5 miles before they started to complain. So we would do a early morning big hike go hang out in the hotel for 3 or 4 hours then go back in the afternoon and hike another 3-5 miles.

We have already booked a trip for Utah at the end of June and we will be visiting all 5 parks there. The wife and I have been to Zion twice already. This will be the first time we ha e taken the kids with us.
No way, that’s exactly the ages of mine. What fresh hell did you bring upon you hiking 10 miles with a 3-year old?

Went to yellowstone last summer. By far my least favorite national park. Grand Teton is right down the road and so much better
Wow...I just want people that haven't been there to know...this opinion is not one shared by very many people.

There is a very good reason that Yellowstone is considered one of the greatest natural places on earth by most travelers...it is absolutely mind blowing.

Also...the Grand Tetons are actually just part of "Greater Yellowstone", along with the attached Bridger-Teton National forest..I actually think of the area as one giant park.

I don't walk so well anymore, at least not for distance. I'd need one of these bad boys to enjoy national park trails.

It seemed to me that at yellowstone the park is more about driving around and pulling off at stops to take pictures. There arent a ton on marked hiking trails unless you go to the back country. I had 4 kids under 10 with me so that was a no go.

Teton i thought had a lot better hiking opportunities that were more easily accessible.
Dang brother...you should have done just a little more research...you missed a ton.

Dont get me wrong it is beautiful. Im sure that i would have enjoyed it a lot more had it just been me and my wife, but with 4 kids we spent 90% of our time there in a car driving from one view point to another.

let me add that its one of my favorite places in this Country.

I lived and worked there. But could see his point of it not having as much to do. He also mentioned he had three small kids. it is super spread out and trails very much primitive.

I loved it for those reasons. We used to drive to Jackson or Cody for R&R.

Notice how he capitalizes "Country", and specifies, "this Country".

So, what are your favorite Russian national parks, comrade?

I totally disagree..I am half crippled and have been there a total of 7 days and I STILL have a ton of stuff I couldn't get to...it is q ridiculous take by someone who did little research or planning to know how to allocate their time, and where to go and how best to get there.

@engineerVOL Firehole, Madison, Gallatin, Snake, Yellowstone, Platte, Colorado, & the hundreds of plane stocked and natural lakes surrounding are perfect for fly fishermen.

Eastern fly hatches are tiny and complex, fish get hammered, and tailwaters create near ideal conditions year round. Farm raised trout are lazy.

Western hatches are massive, and more predictable. Wild fish grow big but keep stamina with wild populations. really spoiled me.

Trying to catch up on the National Park talk.

Went to Glacier last year and was blown away!!
Beautiful drives, wild life and terrific hiking.

Went to Yellowstone and Teton the year before. Yellowstone had the better pull offs, Teton had the better hikes.
They were incredible but very much paled in comparison to Glacier. I really want to go back there soon.

As I said though...that is not the Parks fault. You have to know a lot about getting around YNP, and where stuff is to really get it right...or you will spend most of your time backtracking over the same areas on that massive figure 8 road.
