I hate Auburn,if not for the fact they have self imploded lately and won't skip a beat.Just saying seems they always recruit and play tuff D,just their offenses have lacked. They will hire a Briles or someone similar, bring back Steele or a decent named D coordinator, hell might sling a stack at Gardner to come back.Within 1 or 2 years they'll be more competitive than us.Im just being realistic with it,certain teams just have that prowess about them..

You're actually not being realistic. Not in the slightest.

What's realistic about that? They'll hire back two old heads that they straight up showed the door and be more competitive than a team (us) that in year 1 out performed them even with breaking in an all new staff again after just a year or 2 of the wrong hire from out west?

Garner isn't going back to Auburn at all. He picked here because this is home and he wants to be somewhere he can retire. Steele would only return to be the HC, and they may have fully burnt that bridge with him after passing him over.

I could be wrong, but I feel like he's got a few schools on his list that he'd leave for.

Miami, Oregon are/were on that list. I'd say Ohio State and maybe Michigan could also be on that list. Wouldn't surprise me if a few other Florida/west coast jobs are on his list.
Apparently he let a few schools know that he'd be interested in talking when they opened up after the season and never got a call.

Kiffin just brought in a highly rated RB and QB through the portal. It seems unlikely to me that he'd jump ship to a very unstable Auburn program in need of a rebuild.
True but Kiffin loves to be loved and wanted. Ask the UT co-eds from when he was here.

It wouldn’t suprise me if Auburn brought Mason back in as HC. They will need someone to keep roster from falling apart if Harsin gets canned. I don’t see how you can attempt to fire Harsin for inappropriate relationship with what appears to be little proof with how it drags along but then go and try to hire Freeze or Kiffin who have proven history of inappropriate relationships. It’s like TN they will think they can strike big but find it hard to get someone to take the cash because of the disaster of a roster that will be inherited and the messy politics behind scenes of now two booster coupes in a year to oust Gus and Harsin.

They could do a lot worse than Mason. He's a solid guy and coach.

On a side note. Have any of you been saying a little prayer for a member on here and had to chuckle because all you know them by is their screen name? He knows who they are so the thoughts will land where they are supposed to, but I always wonder if some of the goofy things we do give God a chuckle.
The wife and I try to send out thoughts and prayers to the planet every day. We figure that God knows better than we do who actually needs it the most.

Mason won't be back to Auburn. He didn't leave cause of the HC, he left cause the family didn't want to be there.

Just heard AP make a hypothetical with Auburn. Talking about the recruiting and transfer fiasco he mentioned what happens with Auburn's kids. "Will they get to jump ship if Auburn fires Harsin? What happens when Auburn goes and hires Kiffin to replace him?"

The possibility of Kiffin at Auburn... How do we feel bout that?

As much as it seemed Kiffin was desperate to parlay last seasons success into a better gig, I don’t think Auburn would be on that list right now. It’s a dumpster fire there currently and taking this job this late in the coaching turnover cycle would be a really tough road ahead. I think Auburns choices will be coordinators looking to get their first, or a second chance, at a HC opportunity. Derek Mason, Kendall Briles, etc. Maybe you convince them but getting a sitting HC will be a tough pull this late.. unless you hire this sitting HC. I hear he’s available.

I won't say I know for a fact where he is going, but I can tell you that the Vols staff fully believes that this kid will be a Vol.

They are planning on taking 4 OL in '23 and Bussell is 100% a take. Staff is not going to let an in-state kid commit and then tell him to de-commit and ruin relationships.

There are at least two kids in the state that attempted to commit in December that were told to wait because they couldn't guarantee they'd be able to sign. One of them has over a dozen Power 5 offers. They are attempting to build relationships the right way and be upfront and transparent with kids and programs in the state.

Along with Bussell, Sanders is at the top of the instate board for Vols at OL.

Brown/Crocker lower down and probably would not be takes right now

New poster. Three strong posts. Hopefully @slice has the avenue(s) to reliable information. If so, refreshing to read matter-of-fact posts sans opinions.

My med school loans were another issue…forever thankful that my Mother could take out a home equity loan to make up the difference. I was able to defer my student loan payments and focus on the home equity loan first. Once my Mother’s house was free and clear, then I focused on my student loans. (UT and med school). My wife and I lived on a shoestring budget until we paid off all of our student loans.

Funny thing about education costs, the Valedictorian of my high school went to Harvard and then to Johns Hopkins for med school. Racked up almost $1 million in debt for those degrees. (Found out at our 10 year high school reunion) My wife I went to both went to state schools, she went to a state med school and I went to a Caribbean med school. Our total debt was <$250k. I am part of a very successful practice and make more than he does. The names of your schools only help with your first job…then it’s about you!
How much does a fake - er - Caribbean med school cost? Lolol I'm jk.

That's awesome. I'm in the middle of working through that stuff now. My UT loans are in deferment because I'm still in school. My in-laws completely paid my wife's loans, but she got $10k more for her master's. My master's and PhD have been completely covered by my programs/research grants. So we should be able to knock ours out quickly - assuming I get a good job.
