When I went to Tennessee, $2,500 per year covered everything. Tuition, books, meal plan and dorm.

Every other school I applied to was out of state or private. Glad that I chose Tennessee for so many reasons.

Obligatory 15-0 🤠
I thought when you went to Tennessee it was Blount College??

;)

I think we as a people have became too soft. Every little comment offends someone, every little dislike gets you punished. I try to guard my language so I don’t hurt any feelings, but some people are just looking for things to be offended over. I agree about having correct speech when it comes to working for someone else but it is a sad day when a person can’t be themselves. Like I said, it wasn’t that bad what he said.
People have always been offended by words. Just that in the past it was more acceptable to punch someone in the mouth when you didn't like what they said.

If the speech in question impairs someone's ability to do their job, or damages the employer's business, then it should be a fireable offense. Otherwise it shouldn't, IMO.

The problem is uneven enforcement of speech "rules", either by employers or by the govt, i.e., the judicial system and the vast govt bureaucracy tasked with handling relations between employers and employees. The standard there should be fairness. If political speech, for example, is banned by a company to avoid offending customers, then all political speech should be banned for all employees. Uneven enforcement is where govt censorship of speech can start to creep in, allowing some opinions to dominate while others are censored, even if the speech itself is not expressly forbidden by law.

Dang... iirc my tuition was like 8k, dorm was 3-4k meal plan was another couple thousand. Quickly moved off campus to save money on meal plan and housing.

I had HOPE-plus, TN scholarship, half off tuition, and applied for some independent scholarships. Managed to get out with about 20k debt.

Its insane how much the cost of school has increased.

Pete Thamel on Finebaum talking this whole Auburn thing...boosters vs president and BoT vs the AD...

My god. And I thought we were bad.

If anything, this should be further proof why this crap doesn't work when there are a hundred cooks and only one kitchen. I only hope the people on The Hill have learned this lesson and moved on to a better power structure.
One of the reasons I’m thrilled to have Randy Boyd as the president of the BOT is that he isn’t intimidated by big money people and knows how to thread those needles. Hell, he’s probably known most of them personally for a long, long time.

All of that instills trust and gives the chancellor and AD the cover they need to actually do their jobs.

I’d like for us to have hired Cutcliffe in some form as well, but Heupel is one of the best in the business in finding and developing QB talent so there truly isn’t a need for him

The guy said he didn’t like womens basketball and would rather kill himself than watch. I guess every opinion is political but that was weak in my opinion. I came from a different time and have said much worse that would have got me canned today. I guess time has passed me by.

Everyone tends to confuse freedom of speech with freedom from consequences. The definition of freedom of speech is to express yourself without censorship, which he was freely able to do without being censored, however there are consequences to all our actions, good or bad. The consequences being, he was fired.
Sure I’ll buy that when we fire somebody for saying ā€œI’d rather kill myself than hang out with white peopleā€ or even ā€œI’d rather kill myself than watch hockeyā€ but that would never happen.

Hiring Cut…
Fruitless at worst.
Game changer at best.
I wish we had done it.
Why?...we have the new improved latest model..šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I wouldn't mind having him back, and it would be nice to have the old guy around, but obviously our guys didn't care to make a run at him, so I don't care.

In that context, little overboard thereā€¦šŸ˜³
He was just joking...jeez man. Damn people don't see what's going on and where we are headed.

The man doesn't deserve to have his livelihood taken away for that harmless šŸ¦¬šŸ’©...period.

Common sense, true tolerance and human understanding is dead.

And, some people confuse the different forms of free speech, i.e. hyperbole for literal intent, opinion for hate speech. Hyperbole is absolutely protected speech. Opinion is protected speech as well.

There should be no consequence for free speech. Guess some people have failed to learn what free expression is supposed to be. The forefathers intended to allow people to speak their minds, free from consequence from the powers that be. You know like, "screw the king and the horse he rode in on."

Who is going to take AK’s spot on the Jumbotron??
If they stick with players currently in the NFL, DB has to be the favorite you’d think? We don’t have a NFL ā€œstarā€ right now outside ok AK.. It would be nice if Dobbs would win the starting job in Pittsburg, but that’s a long shot
