China is a big reason I'm not. Might still watch curling though

Doc - I’m the same. My wife loves the sappy backstories. I think the Winter Olympics are actually more exciting than the Summer Olympics. Watched snowboarding last night and luge this morning.I don’t care about the host country at all. I am an Olympic junkie. I don’t care what the sport is…what I can’t stand all the back stories. Yes there is a lot of sacrifices for every Olympic athlete. I just want to watch the events. My wife loves all the back stories…![]()
Oh my. Prayers abound for you @SweetasSodaJust heard that @SweetasSoda is in the hospital with Covid pneumonia. Remember her in your prayers
Prayers for you all as wellHate this darn virus, Prayers for @SweetasSoda. My wife is pregnant and sick with it too so kind of scary. But her o2 levels are good and no fever since the first day.
I'll support her while she's coach here, which I expect to be a while. However, I have zero confidence that she'll ever be more than average. She either is incapable of coaching any semblance of offense or she doesn't care. The street ball, one on one offense will never get it done. As with Holly, if you're good with just making the tournament and mostly 1st and second round exits, she's your coach (I suspect that's good enough for the UT administration).
As to only commenting after losses, I kept my mouth shut when some were ribbing me when they won a few games. I didn't say a thing after the inexcusable Auburn loss. I posted that these days were coming. Many more losses are headed the Lady Vols way. I said it 2 months ago. You can't be a very good basketball team with zero offensive scheme.
My wife asked me about the Olympics last night. I said the opening ceremonies are on. She said let's watch. I turned them on and they were doing all the light show stuff. I asked her, do you really like this sh!t? She said yeah. I said ok. A few minutes later she fell asleep. I changed the channel.I don’t care about the host country at all. I am an Olympic junkie. I'm the same. I sincerely hope that she does something to fix that O. I really want her to succeed. I just have little confidence she will. She's got a hugely long leash though. I suspect they'll be fine with 20 wins and the occasional sweet sixteen. We both did as you know. It just is what it is. Women's basketball does not have the level of basketball athleticism as the men's game. So the LV's can exist in the bottom tier of the top 25 based solely on individual skills/athleticism for as long as people remember the Pat's years and can steer some decent players our way. But who now remembers La Tech's prominence and domination of the game? They of the MWC and 9-9 record today. How about ODU?
To be what the LV's used to be, elite, they need development, a current offensive system, and game day leadership. Don't see it. Hope it changes for her and the program's sake before they completely lose the value of their past tradition.
Prayers for Healing for her.Just heard that @SweetasSoda is in the hospital with Covid pneumonia. Remember her in your prayers

we actually had a bunch of neighbors over for dinner last night and curling was on. If you watch it for a while and pay attention to the strategies, it really gets pretty entertaining to watch!
I love the Olympics. I don’t understand not watching it because of where it’s held. We have athletes competing. Go USA!
