It’s the universities fault and it’s not even about Bruce….. all the top admins protect their programs….. not for the individual coaches but for the betterment of the program….. all the had to do was sit down with Bruce….. explain what the ncaa was looking at and this is your/our response….. that wouldn’t have happened if Dickey was still AD….. H&ll, I’m the boss at my job and I have to protect my staff from themselves every time state comes in my building…. It was such an easy situation.

Man, the way Auburn, LSU and Miami has said eff you, NCAA, u may be right. Still, every coach that has had a show cause has been fired and Bruce got one. So, like I said, he reaped what he sowed

If the University handled its business…. A show cause never would have happened.

So now I’m hoping for McDaniel. Both would be considered a downgrade to start, but both have just as much potential. It’s been said by Dolphins reporters that the defensive staff is open to staying for a new HC if the new HC wanted them. That defensive consistency would be huge as he is an offensive minded coach. Mike McDaniel was always a guy that intrigued me though. Looks like a normal hipster dude you’d find at a brewery yet is Kyle Shanahans right hand man and players can’t quit talking about how creative and smart he is. Can he command an organization and be a good HC? Who knows. All first time HC have that question mark.

Also, I’m curious if Flores even gets scooped up this off-season. If so, some of those rumors of his downfalls may be true and teams are staying away this go around.

Agreed. All I know is that Daboll got a lot of love bc Josh Allen is good. Same thing we said with Gase about Manning and Cutler and he was terrible.

McDaniel is supposedly a top notch schematic play designer. If he puts an experienced play caller and DC in I think it could work. Hell, we need to try anything out of the box to get out of the mediocrity we have been stuck in for 20 years!

@drvenner thanks man , past few years been rough on everybody , but we could have been born somewhere else, and had it a whole lot rougher

Also, your fashion sense with the hot pink, leaning up against the wall like that..... my my my...

@SpringBokVol, thanks for all of your info and encouragement to get LASIK done, after you had your procedure! It was a phenomenal experience…I call it the most weird, wicked cool thing I’ve had done. To go from blind as a bat when I took my glasses off to actually being able to see things, albeit blurred, 5-7 mins later was crazy!! Dr. Smith at LASIK plus is amazing! I would recommend him over and over to anyone wanting to do it. He said I would probably need to get readers today, as my near-sighted vision would probably be blurry but far-sighted should be much better. He was wrong! Both are unreal! A little blur/haze around the periphery of my vision field, but I can actually see better up close than when I had contacts! I now wish I would have done this years ago, but thankful I finally did it now.

This IMO is a huge problem and part of the reason we are not ready to claw our way back to the top of the food chain. UTAD has been not knowing stuff for years. Fifteen years ago, they didn't know you could hire coaches as analysts and QC, so they didn't until everyone else had already done it and we were way behind the 8-ball. Ten years ago, they didn't know you could stand up to the NCAA and it cost not only the basketball program a good coach but the athletics program in general a lot of good will and fan enthusiasm for something that was working. Lately, they didn't know you could set up NIL liaison office until after the people we're trying to recruit against already did it. I'm sure there are other things they didn't know that have cost the program. My opinion is that UTAD has a bureaucratic culture where people are really good at reading rules and coloring inside the lines, which is great for job protection but absolutely horrible for encouraging innovation. The fact that the same not knowing stuff has been going on for over a decade and half with all the changes at the top suggests to me that this is an issue that goes down to the rank and file people whose names most of us will never know. The people who have survived all the changes are the ones who carry forward the institutional knowledge and the foundational culture. The new people look to them as an example of how to have a long career in a big institution where you keep your head down, do your time, and get a decent retirement when it's over. White has to either educate those folks to adopt a culture of innovation or make wholesale changes, although I doubt he even has the authority to clean house at the level I am referring to.

TLDR version: broke culture is still broke

No doubt about being born somewhere else. The USA is the best place on the planet to live and it is not even close. As to my fashion sense, I cannot help it if you are just that far behind the times. Try to keep up.
