Me, too. It was around '90, we were giving one player, absolute hell. We were drunk as Cooter Brown, of course. Next thing I know a puck gets blasted into an empty seat next to me and we were way up high, in the stands, thankfully.. Dude got so pissed he intentionally, took a shot at us. So, I shut up from riding him, as did all my friends. Well, until the end of the 3rd period, then we started up again. Had a blast, can't believe we never went back

Maybe. Spyre is a start but they feel more like a royalty/perpetuity play. Partner with Company A, sell product B, and use player C’s name. We take a cut, player gets a cut, here is an upfront amount to get you started (from our donations of which they also take a cut). Hope I’m wrong but until we see a player getting $50k for something guys will be looking. Spyre could be that but if so they are doing a poor job marketing the big #’s that make headlines… not a knock on Spyre. It’s smart business if that’s their strategy. They’re better than our other current options…

He’s worked so hard serving our country, has been all over the world, and deserved this treat. He’s on cloud 9, like a kid at Christmas. Wasn't a UT game, it was whoever the semi-professional Knoxville team was at the time (either the Cherokees or the Speed), but had a player come up into the stands looking to fight a guy I knew because we would taunt the opposing team players whenever they were in the box.

So we are imposing 12 scholarship restrictions on the, "up to 32" we could sign this year and to the 85 and then taking transfers for this class and counting them forward to the next class.

So it will not only effect the 2022 signing class as well as the 2023 class??? This crap doesn't add up.

VQ has said repeatedly that we wouldn't self-impose on the 25 number and that we should impose any restrictions, now we are going to basically self-impose up to 12 reductions and also hurt our 2023 class?

I think this basically says we imposed on our ‘21 Class. That ends this spring.

Could be. But I think it was more than that. The University is prioritizing academics more and more and wanting their image to be pristine. Pruitt and Fulmer wanted to win at all costs and the University didn’t want that. Bama and Georgia care about nothing but winning and they are winning. I think it was a difference in views and not wanting anything bad to come down on the university. Just my opinion though.

I think it was the decades old booster power struggle, Pruitt being hated, a terrible coach that was losing, and blatantly cheating to the level of stupidity with how he kept records. The ones that gained control were sick of how he made the university look while not even winning. They took over the way they felt necessary to get around the dysfunction. Of course, there will always be those that think there was an easier way. I’m not so sure after reading Decade of Dysfunction. Maybe they read it, too. Just my opinion with limited information. Time to swallow our medicine and move on. Can’t change a thing. I’m quickly tiring of trying...even tired of thinking about it. I don’t have many years left with my health. Doubt I’ll see another championship. Just trying to enjoy anything I can.

I guess I'm not getting you, but you're also not getting me. I choose to see both the positive and the negative. I'm not choosing one side over the other. I'm choosing truth. The truth is we've pursued 3 portal targets. First Verse, then Neyor and the WF RB. We got none of them. That's struggling. I'm not being negative IMO, I'm stating the truth. I'm not lambasting the coaches and calling for their heads, I'm simply stating what has happened. We can list the multiple whys, but none of that changes what is.

Yep. But you want to talk over and over about the negative. We see both sides, realize everyone has negatives and prefer talking about the positives. I always say...Don’t talk about problems unless you have solutions, or you’re just part of the problem. Just the way I live. People are amazed at how strong and happy I am considering what it takes for me to get through a day and what I deal with. ( Someone called me emotionally weak because I didn’t want to talk about the negatives... which we cannot do a thing about! It happened on the same day someone told me I was the strongest person they knew lol.) But I am not alone! “And I know He watches over me!” Whew, this covid has got me going tonight!

Prayers appreciated. Left a message with my doctor’s office about calling in a prescription. Figured they wouldn’t so called to sign up for the TeleDoc. Got someone who could not speak English or read! Should have heard him trying to pronounce my simple Irish name! Finally called me by my first name. At the end he had to read through a long list of stuff. He mumbled and mispronounced. I fell asleep twice! At the end he asked if I understood. I said... I think so. He said...Mam, I need a yes or no. I said...let’s go with yes. I was afraid he would read it again, and I couldn’t hold my head up. Slept for six hours. I FORGOT WHAT WE WERE EVEN TALKING ABOUT LOL. Hopefully, this NyQuil, Lyrica, and Zyrtec combo will kick in soon.

So I’m a random guy because I don’t live on this board and wear my feelings on my shirt sleeve 24 seven?
I’ve been a member of this board for about 15 years and prior to that was a member of grid scape from the mid 90s. My how things have changed on these boards. He who crows loudest and most often wins the daily internet lottery, I guess.
I am an alumnus, season ticket holder for 40 years, and longtime donor. I bleed orange. There are a lot of “random” people like me that wish “fans“ like you would shut the hell up. You do not represent a majority of the Vol nation. Us “random” people do.
Now back to your regularly scheduled keyboard warrior debate among ne’er-do-well negatrolls and defenders of the Orange.....
And to you guys and gals that stick up for us random people.... I say thank you and keep up the good work.
