More Swain:

- Heupel is still suffering from the actions of Pruitt
- we have a few more weeks, we are through the worst part, but you're not through the woods YET
- what did people expect? when you get caught for what pruitt was doing, you're going to feel it
- thinks what TN has been doing has been great, you don't put your head in the sand and hope it goes away
- the best play things tight and get through it, keep it in the family
- people aren't getting the facts, so they're assuming the worst, it's understandable
- plus the fact that bad things happen to this program all the time, it's understandable
- BUT WE CAN'T MELTDOWN OVER EVERYTHING, it's exhausting and it fits the narrative that the national media puts out there about us
- People are hating on Danny White because of this, which is misplaced
- Spyre is doing great things. We don't understand. They are working with boosters. Biggest boosters. All over the state. All over the country. Boosters that used to butt heads that are getting along now. They are regular fans like us, but they have a plan and it's working.
- just wait and watch what Spyre is about to do
- Spyre is going to take out best asset, our passion, and make Tennessee a top school in the NIL game
- wrap this around your head - you are not outbidding A&M
- "you are going to have a lot of haves and have nots, the separation is going to grow. the teams that step up with NIL will separate themselves." - Kirby Smart said this
- why are Kirby and Saban worried about this? because they see A&M stepping up, they know what we're doing
- "NIL was supposed to be a positive thing for players, their ability to earn is not a bad thing. I'm worried about how it is being used to lure players. we need legislation. there will be an imbalance."
- Saban and Kirby are acting like they aren't the top dogs. and they're nervous! because they see A&M, and multiple A&M's coming for them
- they had mastered how to buy players and get away with it. now everyone can buy players in the open, and they're worried.
- we are set up and prepared to do this.

it is important to know the truth in regards to Neyor and NIL, please understand these facts and share them

I agree with Swain, that should be required listening/reading

It's time for them to tell us what exactly Pruitt did. I have heard over and over that he got caught red handed but no one is saying what he actually did. There's only so long that we take it on blind faith. Had Pruitt been even slightly more popular, folks would've already demanded answers. I trust that we did the right thing here but I'm also at the point where a tax payer funded institution has to start giving answers beyond 'trust us.'

Please notice that he has changed all of his definitions. "Struggling" now means any team not on GA's or AL's level (so all teams except those two are "struggling"). So under those newly revised and completely ad hoc conditions you are supposed to claim he was wrong to say our coaches are struggling.

And of course that is absolutely not what he was saying or what he meant when he was like a pig in sh!t stirring up the mess yesterday. It's his regular spin routine. He changes all of his definitions to something that cannot be assailed after the fact. And then he is going to talk down to you because you didn't listen to him until the end.

He has another definition he trotted out this morning: "struggling" is now any team that misses a target (so all teams without exception are "struggling.") Get it?

Don't play chess with that pigeon.

I just disagree. @BigSteve09 laid out Swain's segment perfectly. We are being patient for a reason, and people have to understand that. You may not agree with not taking someone, but surely you understand why.

lol. It seemingly does not matter what and how things are said on here at times.

How many times over the past couple of years have I posted "negotiated settlement" with regard to the NCAA investigation? Nope - we gotta fight, we gotta ignore, we gotta whatever. Just take them on show them who is boss like LSU, like Auburn, like whoever.

While totally ignoring the rules to that game changed.

Same with NIL. Mutually exclusive from the investigation in some minds. We gotta, we gotta, we gotta - with OPM. They don't get it is interconnected with recruiting, which is interconnected with the NCAA investigation. Just does not sink in that our admin and AD might know exactly what they should be doing and are executing a well crafted plan. Just doesn't fit the narrative.

Never, even TAMU would be about 10x short.

And if it did? Then the roster:coach salary ratio would actually be close to the NFL's...which is as close to a free market as there is. Just as an example of how far off the college game's equity to players is.
The players are no more the reason for College teams value than HS players are to HS teams...you wanna start paying them too.

People own NFL teams to make money..College fans now literally give millions to these kids for zero monetary return...that alone should tell you the difference in college sports and pro sports.

I hate it and I hate people pushing this abominable 💩.

i think you have to get to post spring and see who's here, and not here, in the summer and fall.

there's guys i'd of like to of gotten here. but it's hard to get up in arms, or be super excited, cause there's still a lot of unknown.

so, i think if your feeling strongly one way or the other, may be wise to just sit back, and see how it plays out. it's probably not going to be as bad as some think. and it's probably not gonna be xv-nulla either.

reality in college football is changing daily it seems. trying to keep up with the ebb and flow is probably a futile effort.

I've not changed the definitions. I brought up Bama and UGA because Sugar brought them up in a past conversation. I didn't want he/she thinking they were the only teams I was referring to.

And I didn't say the coaches were struggling. You're attempting to put words in my mouth. Or your illiterate and can't read properly.

I seriously suggest you put me on ignore. ORB seems convinced she knows who you were, but I don't really care. You obviously kiss the ass of certain posters, so you're definitely not new, just a new identity.

Then wallow..I'm done.
Fine. I'm trying to explain my POV. You obviously could give two ***** less. Certain posters I care about, such as yourself, but others I really don't give a rat's ass, like Orange. Sorry I can't join the hive mind and just mindlessly agree with everyone else. That's not my style. If I have an opinion, I express it.

Why you leave out Mincey if you're being so honestly objective? That is really big get you are ignoring.
You are correct. I forgot about Mincey. I'm not sure if he's a huge get, but he's definitely a good pickup. I guess because he happened around the time of the ESP I kind of lumped him in with the early signing class rather than as a portal pickup.

Really hoping for some strong Spring pickups.

Are you bi-polar? It wasn't even last week when you were talking about our struggles in recruiting.

Blind faith seems to be the only acceptable behavior anymore. Lord help anyone who simply calls things as they are.

A couple reasons I don't think that ever happens:

1. If I'm a big donor, I don't want people to know how much I'm putting into it. That's my business.
2. Once that number is out there, every other SEC school knows where we stand and they can operate accordingly.

And this is just an actual question, cause I just give my money to them and never ask:
Does the Tennessee Fund do full audits and release that information for money donated to them?
Audits don't report such things. That would be insanity. Private companies are audited all the time and are highly protective of their specifics.

A standard financial audit is a way to report and grade the "fairness and accuracy" of the represented financial figures and transactions.

It simply gives investors and other external users (creditors typically) an independent report that can put many at ease and give assurances.

Blind faith seems to be the only acceptable behavior anymore. Lord help anyone who simply calls things as they are.

Except that you are expressing uninformed opinions. It's not about blind faith or making accusations. The reality is that society has lost patience, and that is in ALL aspects of life.

I give up on understanding anything. Such as why we are letting Page return as a Super Senior and take up a spot and at best be 3rd/4th string
Instead of using it to upgrade.
Not really up to us. Unless we want to go full Butch Jones.

The best one can do is have an honest and..."frank"...conversation. Otherwise, these are "guaranteed multiyear scholarships" at the Autonomous 5 level. Since 2015. So it's not too easy unless you're willing to really run a kid off and idk if Heupel would stoop to Butch's tactics. But honest conversations can have the same effect. We'll see after Spring.

Lol ok random guy. When you turn yourself in to the NCAA that is 100% hurting your program for no reason. Let them come looking or find something, don’t unlock the safe with all the secrets and let them dig in it for months. I guess if you rob a bank, you should turn yourself in to the police. It’s better than getting caught in your mind.

So I’m a random guy because I don’t live on this board and wear my feelings on my shirt sleeve 24 seven?
I’ve been a member of this board for about 15 years and prior to that was a member of grid scape from the mid 90s. My how things have changed on these boards. He who crows loudest and most often wins the daily internet lottery, I guess.
I am an alumnus, season ticket holder for 40 years, and longtime donor. I bleed orange. There are a lot of “random” people like me that wish “fans“ like you would shut the hell up. You do not represent a majority of the Vol nation. Us “random” people do.
Now back to your regularly scheduled keyboard warrior debate among ne’er-do-well negatrolls and defenders of the Orange.....
And to you guys and gals that stick up for us random people.... I say thank you and keep up the good work.
Go big Orange. Win em all....

It’s insanity in here lately. You can say the coaches are the greatest ever and freaking amazing. But say one thing negative and everyone goes irate and says you’re a negavol. I guess you can’t question anything anymore. You are exactly correct. Coaches did an amazing job last year and have us on the right path. But recruiting has not been good so far. Doesn’t mean that can’t change going forward.
Seems like the others are involved in groupthink and just expect everyone else to follow along, and when you don't, group attack. Odd, because I know I've defended at least one of these posters before when they were unduly attacked. But whatever.

Could be. But I think it was more than that. The University is prioritizing academics more and more and wanting their image to be pristine. Pruitt and Fulmer wanted to win at all costs and the University didn’t want that. Bama and Georgia care about nothing but winning and they are winning. I think it was a difference in views and not wanting anything bad to come down on the university. Just my opinion though.

Alright, a hypothetical then…. Do you think all this would have gone down like it did if Pruitt were winning?
