Pete Rose is one of the greatest baseball players of all time and played the game with everything he had. His morality, or yours and everybody else's for that matter shouldn't have a dang thing to do with it.

It isn't a "really nice guy, perfect person" honor.
No. He gambled on his team. He was rude to my grandmother. **** him.

NIL has changed recruiting completely. You can be a great recruiter in the old system, and get no one. You can be a poor recruiter today and get 5 stars. NIL is now the only thing that matters. You can't even judge your head coach on recruiting. It's not his fault if the NIL for his program isn't good enough.

Which is just gonna blow up the portal in a couple of years. Crap coaches will get crap results, even with 5* talent. Good coaches will get better results with lesser talent against those bad coaches. Eventually NIL won't be enough, and good players will leave for better coaching.

I intermittent fast every now and again. Thought I was helping myself since I always ate so bad. I’m around 180 right now, but I was around 193-195 before the surgery. I don’t mind the weight loss in some areas but I want to keep some size on too. It’s a double edge sword some times.
So, you are intermittent fasting, intermittently?

Okay, I am getting a sinus infection. Fought it since November. Any of my nice doctor friends willing to call me in a prescription so I don’t have to go in the doctor’s office and get the flu? It’s the only thing I have not had. 😬

It will be interesting to see how long programs will be willing to throw money at athletes that don’t work out. I halfway think that this will evolve into a reward system for players who prove their worth.

Lol A&M. Gonna buy all those 5 stars and still only win 9 games a year and never go to the playoffs. I don't think Jimbo is a bad coach but it's laughable they don't win more with the talent they pull every year.

Soda, hope you get to feeling better, asap. Chin up, more steam, sister.

I have to confess, there's been a point in every recent college football season where I've asked myself, why do I enjoy this sport so much?

It's the most top-heavy sport in America - outside of maybe 3 or so programs every year, no one else has a chance at a title based on simple talent alone. And outside of maybe 6 or 7 programs, no one honestly has any chance of winning one in the next 5 years, based on current talent and the amount of time and stability it takes to build up a full roster. NIL will only make this worse.

Saturdays are filled with lots of lopside blowouts and there haven't been any major season changing upsets in years.

But alas, I love the Vols and I enjoy hate watching various programs, so I find myself coming back year after year...

I did say later that know about his “douchnagness”
I’m only basing it on my personal encounters. In the grand scheme, he probably is a dbag…

Id say a majority of famous people/athletes are like that. Not a lot of time at shows to talk sometimes but just my experience. Ken Griffey Sr. not very friendly. Eric Berry real friendly. Ozzie Smith probably the nicest I've ever met. Dave Parker real cool. Total dick? John Valentin..

Agree. Used to watch games all day Saturday. Now I watch Tennessee and maybe a good competitive if there is one. Used to watch all the bowl games. I sure don’t watch the playoffs and very few bowl games because half the team doesn’t play and nobody cares. Sad

The interesting thing is that NIL actually has the potential to scramble that all up. That's why Saban is complaining. He had his pick, but now anyone dumb enough to throw money away can have a highly ranked team. There is next to zero chance that there will be any meaningful ROI, because without quality coaching and a coherent development plan, teams will look exactly like Butch's highly talented but underperforming teams. But they will deprive Saban of talent in the process.

No way rich people keep throwing money year after year at unproven recruits. The transfer portal will still be big money, but I believe high school NIL money will slow down some
