Pete Rose is one of the greatest baseball players of all time and played the game with everything he had. His morality, or yours and everybody else's for that matter shouldn't have a dang thing to do with it.

It isn't a "really nice guy, perfect person" honor.

That's pretty much what I say. Not really the 'Hall of Fame' if you're leaving out some of the best players ever.

Breaking down the QBs following day 2 of Polynesian Bowl practices

Tayven Jackson has a nice all around game and is one of the most intriguing quarterbacks in the ’22 class. He has impressed us both days with his arm strength, quick release and ability to tuck and run when there’s nothing open down the field. We wouldn’t call him a dual-threat quarterback but more a pro-style guy who can move and he’s very comfortable throwing in or out of the pocket and from different arm angles. He has a frame that will easily pack on good weight when he gets to college and his upside is very high. He signed in December with Tennessee and will enroll later this month.

Jeremy Banks just posted to Instagram that he believes he is the fastest and most athletic LB in the 2022 class. Surely he is not considering leaving early?

He's not perfect, but he is a really nice guy.once ya hang out with him for a while..

And he 100% deserves to be in the HoF.
I don't know whether he is a good person or not, but I do know it is irrelevant...he belongs in the HoF.

I think he is probably exactly what Byron said he is, a giant douchebag, but I think that is a stupid reason to deny him the honor he earned by giving the game all he had.

I'm pretty sure there are way worse people than him in Cooperstown.

I mean…Pete Rose is blackballed for betting on the game. But I would bet a ton of the old heads bet on games as well, Babe Ruth etc.

I don't pretend to be a "friend" of his, but I did play a lot of golf with him when I lived in Florida in the late '90's. He was always very easy to get along with and sociable. But.......I've heard a lot of stories about his "douchbagness":)

hopefully we start putting lesser opponents away earlier and we can see this dude in action

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers.

As many of you know, my dad has been suffering from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. It's basically a lung disease where your lung tissue just hardens with scar tissue. Idiopathic means they don't know what causes it. There is no cure other than a lung transplant.

He was diagnosed a little over two years ago, just a few months before my mom died of Alzheimers disease. He progressively got worse where he literally could not convert air to oxygenate his body.

He's been ready to go for some time. He passed early this morning a little after 3:00AM.

My dad and I were literally best friends. He was in business with me until retirement when he quit to care for my mom. No way I could have gotten this business off the ground without him. It's a huge loss for me but I take comfort in that He's no longer suffering.

Again, thanks to all my friends here who prayed or just had us in your thoughts. Please continue to pray for peace for our family. He was really a great man that everyone that knew him loved him. I seriously don't know of anyone that didn't like him.

Thanks to @LA Vol and @Orange Studs who were always asking about him. This is a community of some really great folks here. Thanks, @Freak for giving us this platform.

Finally, if your fortunate enough to still have your parents around, please give them a hug. They won't always be there.

Prayers for you and your family!

Burrell, Tank, and Flowers all improved in this year's defense though. I'm not sold on the defensive staff etc. but I also want to see how that side of the ball looks in year 3 or 4 when they have the depth and the roster flipped to majority their guys before I pass judgement.

Again - #122 in passing D. Your comment about the three reflects scheme fit, not development, although I do not agree that they improved measurably. Burrell looked to have digressed to me.

I am not suggesting they fire CWM. The jury is still out and it make take another couple of years. But his employment dropped out of the SEC to UCF level for good reasons. Everybody gets multiple shots to improve at what they do. Maybe this will be his time.

Let me rephrase, statistically speaking everyone in our secondary had improved production this year over previous years with Gump the Guru. I'm not debating the "why" that is (lots of factors; more games, more plays, scheme fit, improved S&C, etc.) only pointing out that it did happen. I typically don't do much subjective discussion with sports...I look at the numbers.

2018: 106th in passing completion % against, 60th in passing yards allowed, 86th in passing TDs allowed, 81st in INTs
2019: 36th in passing completion % against, 16th in passing yards allowed, 18th in passing TDs allowed, 12th in INTs
2020: 126th in passing completion % against, 106th in passing yards allowed, 48th in passing TDs allowed, 98th in INTs

2021: 76th in passing completion % against, 122th in passing yards allowed, 87th in passing TDs allowed, 41st in INTs

What this tells me is that Pruitt losing Rumph, Sherrer, & Rocker exposed him as a mediocre defensive guy. What this also highlights is that year 2 was when things really started clicking on that side of the ball, I'm hoping that's the trend for Banks & company as well. I don't know if they'll consistently be as good as we were in 2019 though. You put any defense on the field 20+ more plays and it's just harder to keep stonewalling opponents.

Also side note...the year after CWM was dropped out of the SEC the 9-4 team became a 4-8 team...passing defense numbers were pretty good, cause teams could run all over us they didn't even need to pass (only 4 teams that season even attempted 30 or more passes while only one team attempted less than 30 rushes).

my old avi used to be this, but he was wearing Tennessee orange
