So what does everyone think the starting WRs will be this year? I think it will be Tillman, Neyor, Hyatt and Calloway/Keaton. That could be one of the most dangerous WR corps in the nation.

Since Daniels already transferred, does he have to go down to the FCS level to play next season or can he still transfer and play immediately?

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers.

As many of you know, my dad has been suffering from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. It's basically a lung disease where your lung tissue just hardens with scar tissue. Idiopathic means they don't know what causes it. There is no cure other than a lung transplant.

He was diagnosed a little over two years ago, just a few months before my mom died of Alzheimers disease. He progressively got worse where he literally could not convert air to oxygenate his body.

He's been ready to go for some time. He passed early this morning a little after 3:00AM.

My dad and I were literally best friends. He was in business with me until retirement when he quit to care for my mom. No way I could have gotten this business off the ground without him. It's a huge loss for me but I take comfort in that He's no longer suffering.

Again, thanks to all my friends here who prayed or just had us in your thoughts. Please continue to pray for peace for our family. He was really a great man that everyone that knew him loved him. I seriously don't know of anyone that didn't like him.

Thanks to @LA Vol and @Orange Studs who were always asking about him. This is a community of some really great folks here. Thanks, @Freak for giving us this platform.

Finally, if your fortunate enough to still have your parents around, please give them a hug. They won't always be there.
Grateful.

That's the only word I could think of when my dad passed, way too soon at 53.

Grateful to have a dad I met.
Grateful to have a dad I met and I knew.
Grateful to have a dad I met, I knew, and was a good and loving dad.
Grateful to have a dad I met, I knew, was a good and loving dad, and had him for 25 years.

Grateful and blessed compared to so many. I'm sure you feel that and then some. We are lucky to never have had a passed father, a bum dad, a hateful man, or one simply absent.

Hopefully you get through this period well, at ease, and with good memories InVol.

Here is a theory I’ve got about Tennessee’s transfer portal activity/inactivity (I’m sure someone else has posted something similar and, if so, I’m sorry)…..

The coaches could be holding off taking players on defense through the Spring to give the current players one more chance to show how much they have improved (or not). This would give the coaches the opportunity to narrow down the positions they need the most help since spots seem to be at a premium.

Or….they could be total idiots who are tragically unaware of what the team needs like some on here think 😬

Since Daniels already transferred, does he have to go down to the FCS level to play next season or can he still transfer and play immediately?
Afaik they'd still apply for the old school waiver and try their luck for an immediate waiver. If denied, then they sit.

FCS would be a guarantee though...so yeah.

Tuesdays Recruiting Chat Recap....
Poster: What high school recruits is Tennessee still in on? Or should we expect to see mostly transfers from here on out?
Callahan: We know Tennessee is still pursuing two Class of 2022 defensive linemen — Ahmad Moten of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who took an official visit to Knoxville over the weekend, and Jayson Jenkins of Trenton, N.J. The Vols are scheduled to host Jenkins on an official visit the weekend of Jan. 28.
I think they also will continue to pursue safety Miguel Mitchell of Oxford (Fla.) High School despite his commitment to Florida on Sunday. Tennessee was scheduled to host him on an official visit the weekend of Jan. 28 before his commitment, but we'll see if that trip still happens.
I think the Vols will continue to push to get him back on campus, so I wouldn't say that one is a done deal just yet.
Always possible another name or two could emerge down the stretch. You never stop recruiting, and coaching changes and other developments sometimes can lead to new names coming into play in the final weeks
Poster Neyor? Trending in the wrong direction?
Callahan: No, I wouldn't say that. I don't think anything is a done deal with Isaiah Neyor until he announces a final decision and/or shows up on campus. With spring-semester classes at Tennessee starting Monday, we obviously should have a better idea of his plans soon.
Based on everything I've heard so far, I think the Vols are still pretty optimistic about their chances of keeping him, so I would still lean toward thinking he's more likely to stick with Tennessee in the end.
But it's one of those situations where you can't rule out anything until a decision is announced or he officially enrolls. As I mentioned in some posts earlier, I gave Neyor multiple chances Sunday during my conversation with him to shoot down the possibility of him going elsewhere, and all he said was that he needed to go home and discuss things with his family, so he clearly left the door open.
Poster: Looking at 2023 QBs, in terms of our aggressiveness towards recruiting them, how would you rank top targets?
Are we even recruiting Arch, or are we really more focused on Nico/Dante? Anyone else we should be paying attention to at this point at QB?

Callahan: I still think five-star Nico Iamaleava of California is at the top of the board, with fellow five-star Dante Moore of Detroit maybe slightly behind him. But Tennessee has recruited both of those guys pretty hard. No one is higher on the board than Iamaleava, though, and the Vols probably have a better shot at him right now, anyway.
Tennessee QBs coach Joey Halzle was just in Alabama today checking on four-star Christopher Vizzina, a top-100 prospect from Birmingham, Ala., who visited the Vols for one of their home games this season.
They also have stayed involved with four-stars Avery Johnson of Maize, Kan., and Jackson Arnold of Denton, Texas, although neither of them has visited Tennessee to this point. Four-star Marcel Reed of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville is an in-state target who has visited the Vols a couple of times, too, but the others are higher on their board at the moment.
Tennessee pursued Arch Manning for a while last year, but he just hasn't shown any interest in the Vols. Most people currently view Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss and Clemson as the main contenders for Manning.

With regard to Isaiah Neyor.. I’m not sure why any high-level WR would NOT want to play in Josh Heupel’s offense. Throw in Tennessee’s fandom and gameday experience even moreso a head scratcher. This business of it coming down to the wire on every solid recruit is both perplexing and draining. Par for the course I suppose.

(Sorry for the run-on sentences.)
