Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Rhea County is out Thursday and Friday due to staff shortages now. Hardly a bastion of liberal hegemony; guess something else happened there.

When they mandate all these goofball close contact rules it's easy to send everyone home. Hamilton is going virtual for the rest of the week and into Monday. Over a third of the kids at my kid's school are considered "close contacts" which is basically meaningless since kids are coming to school asymptomatic and spreading it to other kids who are asymptomatic. I don't see how you can have Fauci stand in front of the country and say basically everyone is going to get this and then also play pretend that these mitigation measures are going to stop anything.

don’t question the science.

Yes. Time was added to the school day in the 1990s in order to bank up to fifteen inclement condition days per year. In years when there are no snow or flu days, teachers have fifteen extra student contact days above the amount required by the state.

Teachers are not paid for holidays or breaks. A school system may provide the service of normalizing paychecks so that they receive payment during these uncompensated periods by lowering the amount received during the contract period.
They have the option to be paid from the first day until the last day of school or have it spread out for the entire 12 months correct?

Just as DeSantis didn't want big brother dictating I would prefer it be fine on a local level. This removes all local control just like a fed mandate would do to the state. He chose his judgment over that of our elected local officials. If anyone should do this it's the local ones. An outright ban is very heavy handed
And if it was left to the locals you would complain it should be left to the businesses. Like I said this isnt an issue with people's freedom as an absolute. You are just upset by who gets to set the restrictions. Not that there are restrictions.

No I'm upset there are restrictions and when govt does it they remove the control from the people's hands. It's DeSantis doing the exact thing the right is accusing DC of doing yet he gets a pass

But if a govt is to make that call it should be local. They are much more accountable

I don’t consider off duty pot use a work hazard yet I can legally require as a condition of employment my employees abstain from using it.
So it's not about your freedom as a business owner, it's about what you can legally do with your power.

Yeahhhhhhhh. It's not freedom you are chasing here. Its power just like the fed.

And yet you are actively arguing for a business to do the same thing you are complaining about Desantis doing.

It's not about freedom. It's about control.
