I’ll take “it won us more games which translated to a better recruiting class for $500 Alex”…It helps them more than it helps us. Building through recruiting 4 year guys is the way to go. It helps champ contenders more because they can find that missing piece. Other teams need pieces.
This season shows the issue with building through transfers. Now we lost 2 maybe 3 although I think Tilman comes back, both of which are transfers. They took playing time from our younger guys in Hyatt, Coby, Keyton, Callaway etc..... Now unless we get more portal receiver through begging we only have 1 experienced reciever going into next year. Transfer created a huge hole in the receiver spot. It also killed our tackle spot because it limited reps the guys behind Cade got which slows down their overall development.
I can appreciate that. Grew up in a neighborhood full of kids, but strangely, none of them listened to much music, so my only real exposure was when my dad would throw his AC/DC or Lynard CD in to the car.Blame my dad lol. I grew up in the boonies. No kids around us, so I just listened to whatever my dad did until I was 12 or so
As bad as HT is in pass coverage, he is good against the run. HT led Bamas defense is total tackles on the season, so yeah id say he made a significant impact. Without him mabye they lost another game, maybe UGA beats them in Atlanta. HT is playing with something way more significant on the line.
While TN has to hope Hooker comes back and improves while killing their own QB depth, and probably having to rely on another transfer after this season when Hooker leaves. Hooker may look good now, but hows that depth chart look when youre choosing between Jackson, Nicholas(assuming we get him), and Shuler?
Are you saying Tilman was a transfer? Because he def is notIt helps them more than it helps us. Building through recruiting 4 year guys is the way to go. It helps champ contenders more because they can find that missing piece. Other teams need pieces.

This year wouldnt have mattered if they didnt make a bowl. Expectations were for them not to. Killing the development of young players long term like we are doing is going to be much more hurtful.
Yes, who knows if those guys transfer if Hooker isnt here. Instead we are looking at resetting the offense after he leaves with two guys who barely know the offense. How did Hooker kill depth? Who did we have behind him? Bailey, Maurer, maybe Shrout. IDK if any of those guys ever pan out at power 5 level. Hooker hurt nothing, and has been nothing but a net gain for the program. Without him, no bowl this year. Without him, prospects like Iamaleava, and maybe even Jackson aren’t even giving us a sniff. Hooker allowed Huepel to prove he could field an excellent offensive product on the field. This does not happen without him. Hooker has done more for the future of the Volunteer program than To’o To’o has done for Bama.
Terrible take. One of the worst posters on this boardYes, who knows if those guys transfer if Hooker isnt here. Instead we are looking at resetting the offense after he leaves with two guys who barely know the offense.
Yeah no. HT has helped get Bama in position to win another title. Hes done exactly what he was supposed to do
