It wasn't nearly that bad, unless I'm looking at the wrong guys. I'm looking at 247 composite commitments. A bunch of those guys were just post-Pruitt transfers, not bad players.
2018's top 4 were:
JJP
AT
Emerson
Bryce Thompson
I'd call that 2 of 4
2019 was:
Wright
Morris
Toots
Crouch
All 4 played plenty of games here - basically 1.5-2 year starters, with Wright going on Y4. None were busts, though Morris seems to be struggling still, but he's played a ton of games.
2020 you have a case with Wideman and HB. Big O is the one checkmark, but Key started his Fr year and still would be if he didn't transfer.
We can certainly still bring in talent here. We just have to keep it here...by ya know not getting caught with McDy's bags like a dumb*** bammer![]()
Agree, the only difference is Heupel got the "wonderful gift" of the opposite of the usual "1st year HC bump". The only reason he couldn't match Butch's 2014 class or Pruitt's 2019. But he's building for what looks to be a very comparable, if not better, 2nd full class.Every coach we get, people lament about how good/bad they will recruit.
And every coach we get... Recruits to virtually the same exact 247 team ranking. Heupel will likely exceed that next year because he's done what none of the others could do: win some games in the 1st year and prevent staff turnover.
I also think while the average ranking is similar to how it typically is, Heupel did manage to get some culture guys here that are clearly smarter than average wet sack of hammers which is not the norm in the SEC.
Ah that makes a lot more sense! You're correct! I actually meant this season - not sure why I said career. I was originally looking at all of this because I was trying to look ahead at who was leaving and who was coming back and realized I didn't remember a ton about the recruitment from most of our heavy contributors this fall and then realized it's because it's a lot of our middle of the class guys and transfers that made big impacts this year.
Agree with that. Not as many eyes on the sport. Me included.Fury? Loma? May? Klitschko? Alvarez?
Main thing that's changed is people stopped paying so much attention so a lot of people have never heard of the best, but that's on them. Fault to the UFC too, they grabbed a big piece of the eye share.
Sort of like baseball. Viewership has decreased so much, the overall culture doesn't know the names of the best these days. Not like a Canseco, Sosa/McGwire, or A-Rod where the name could reach all of society and just be known, like is still the case in basketball and football.
Can anyone really tell the difference at some point? Or are the liquor snobs as BS as the wine professionals, who have been debunked by researchers? But then he would have to wait 67 years….
Pixies tried what they could to save the poor souls of the 80s from all the god awful big hair rock...
It just wasn't enough![]()
It's actually just a phrase used in the gay community. Sort of like a pickup line, I guess...such as, "y'wanna...run it back?"-redo something/ rematch/ keep the same team
-return sometime to it’s former greatness
-return a kick for a TD.
Probably the first. Could be the second.
Yeah. Some of us said that and got flamed for it. The rich are going to benefit more than the poor in the portal. Why not go to Team A and slide into a championship roster vs going to Team B and hoping for 9 wins.
I do not like Ali as a person. I don't think anyone could ever have beaten him in his prime.Ali was known for that tactic but that wasn't his only tool in his bag. When he was at his prime he was a force.
I would love to see Ali vs Tyson, or cross-generational greats at their prime have that battle. In my opinion, Ali is the greatest heavyweight of all time.
