Anyway, I wanted to take a stab at something I started last year: composite recruiting grades / rankings that don’t include ESPN. ESPN grades have proved to lag behind the other sources, even to the point of making the 247 composite less predictive of NFL draft picks than the pure 247 grade. I’ve seen the analysis somewhere but don’t feel like digging for it now, lol…

Sort of related I guess, but this year I thought more recruits than normal were not ranked by the services until after they had received indications of interest from multiple teams. That always happens to some extent as the recruiting services base their ratings in part on what the coaches do, but it seemed more widespread. I suspect two consecutive years of covid and fewer camps has had an effect on the entire industry's ability to evaluate talent.

Got to love VN. In less than a week it went from talking about Kidneys to my sciatic nerve then went straight in to signing day and the Penny Coward-19 scam and straight into movies and knowing good and well Santa is getting those presents ready.
