Would be great for us honestly. He would weaken Florida and maybe even Georgia some, although Napier is doing a pretty good job on his own weakening Florida.

Florida can never be weak enough. I would like to see how their fans handle a 0 SEC win season. With the biggest point total loss being delivered by your very own Volunteers. I dislike them so much, that I want them to play so poorly that’s they lose a 6 overtime game to vandy 5-3…in the swamp…on CBS. 😈

Actually, I want them to win one SEC game next year…against the dawgs. Also in a 5 overtime game shootout final score 8-6. 😈

Meanwhile our Volunteers are of course 15-0
🤠

Ehhh, this doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies if I am reading that we aren't really working the portal right now unless they know something we don't... too many good kids there right now and if we don't jump, someone else will scoop them up and we may be playing against them next season.

I understand the disdain, too; but, everyone always needs to remember, Phillip Fulmer was the man that led us onto the field on one of the greatest nights of my life...for a true Vol, one of the greatest nights of your lives, as well. That trumps everything else, to me, the way I felt that night.

Majors laid the groundwork for what came after. Someone said earlier, Majors didn't recruit those players in 97 and 98; true, but he did recruit Heath Shuler, the dude that took great recruiting to elite recruiting into the rest of the decade. Yes, Andy Kelly was good, but I'm not sure he was one of the top QBs in the country coming out of high school. Shuler, as you know, McGill...numero uno, he was big time. That led to Peyton and Brandon Stewart, one of the top 8 QBs in the country, to Tee (top 10), to Clausen (top 5)...Shuler was the first of elite QBs, which led to great success. That stretch, I put against anybody, whenever it comes to landing elite QBs, and great to elite QB play. Shuler and Manning were elite...Tee and Casey were great.

Fulmer took us to another level, to one of the top 3 to 4 programs in the country.
Like I said...I have very ambiguous feelings for Phil, and I am just defending those of us who were losing our minds, and grew a slowly simmering to boiling hatred for Phil while watching us slowly sink back into the abyss after the SEC championship game in 01...the frustration was infuriating.

They should take a lot of that busted up concrete..bust it up into tiny gravel sized pieces, and then put it into those tiny Mason jars and sell it for five-10 bucks a pop...I know I would buy one.

Or use it as aggregate in a new concrete batch and do an exposed aggregate walkway in the concourse.

There are a lot of emotions in this sport. Particularly for people. But we need him as a Tennessee icon. That’s my choice….

Some regular season notes –

We were dead last in the conference at giving up sacks (42) which also ranked 125th in the nation.

For our run game, TFL’s were only 25, 2nd best in the conference behind Miss State. Removing sacks, they ran the ball 220 times, we ran it 476. Our run game lost the fewest yards in the conference due to TFL’s. Over the course of 12 games we lost a combined 46 yards.

In our 7 wins our offense averaged 50.1 points per game and our defense gave up an average of 18.1 points per game.

In our 5 losses our offense averaged 23.0 points per game and our defense gave up 40.6 points per game.

Our defense ranked 125th for most plays, Ole Miss ranked 126th. Fewer plays are better.

We played 5 teams that finished in the AP-top 25 while Kentucky played 1, South Carolina and Missouri each played 4, and Vandy played 3.

Our offense averaged 6.50 yards per play which was better than we have done in at least 14 years. Our defense gave up 5.22 yards per play which since 2009 is the best we’ve done other than 2009 (4.86), 2015 (5.21), and 2019 (5.01).

Back on March 3rd after posting my research on each member of the new staff I gave each a numerical grade. I’ve updated those grades for the 2021 season.

On April 21st I posted my projection for the 2021 season and since everything pretty much worked out that way I can’t really complain.

Score Prediction for the Purdue game: UT 50.1 Purdue 18.1
Love all your posts and dig the numbers.

Just a quick observation - don’t think Coach Ek is the lowest rated staff member in the group. ST was stellar and a weapon all year. Top 5-15 in punt and kickoff return / defense, blocked punts, kickoff return TD’s.

Could be the hot chili though.

Yo firearm folk..

My son feels confident with rifles atp, (he really is a good shot, keep telling myself I'm letting him win😖)
Now he's wanting to learn shotguns and I haven't had to buy anything new in .. oof, let' just say the Blackberry was a dream of the future.

Thinking I'll start him with a 20 pump. Obviously want reliable but doesn't need anything too nice, rougher on them than I was at his age.
So, where are all the cool kids shopping these days? Current notorious pieces of junk to avoid?

Every Fulmer basher loved the Pruitt hire. Slurped it up like crazy. Shoot, had he been hired a few years later, his money bag schemes would have been heralded because it was landing and keeping the guys in campus. I love Fulmer, it was ultimately a very bad hire, because Proot sucked at building a program, and he wasn’t really AD material but he doesn’t deserve the excommunication some on here desire. He definitely doesn’t warrant being called a cancer and a POS.

He is and will always be remembered for ushering in a large part of our fanbase and bringing glory to our program. I choose to remember him for that. I have too much hate in my heart for those that have run the program down and other folks in the sport, be he, he’s sort of an untouchable for me… but it isn’t blind, it’s a choice…. unless he does something morally egregious, 😝.
People don’t care that Pruitt paid players….. they care that we sucked while paying players…. I don’t get all the hate for our ex players/ coaches that have come back to be a part of the program…. If it doesn’t work…. Fire them and move on but still respect what they mean to the history of Tennessee athletics.

This notion that Phil or Pruitt destroyed the program is absolute nonsense…. It took one season to already be twice as good as when Pruitt took over.

I have a lot of respect for you but it does not mean I like you calling me a sheep because I disagree. We are both better than that.
Sorry...I just got a ton of crap back then for wanting Fulmer out from what I called sheep. They were fine with 7-5 and 8-4 and getting our teeth bashed in annually by Saban, Meyer and Richt in perpetuity.

Of course it all went sideways thanks to hiring Kiffin and Kiffin bolting. I thought for sure the dumbasses would hire a good coach to replace Phil....but nope.

Me
Not in the mood considering I’m sipping on warm milk to help me sleep, @InVOLuntary and @BaldBiker gave that advice. After three glasses of that crap, I’m beginning to believe neither one know their arse from a hole in the ground. Geez, geezers. I hope their POV’s have picked up brochures for the nearest ‘new placement’.
Melatonin..

Zackly! Procuring talent was never an issue with Oregeron…it was everything else.

Lol of course TAMU leads for several of them. First time I’ve really looked at their class, 3 of the top 10 with two others 100% crystallballed to them which would give them 8 of the top 22… ain’t no stinkin’ way they didn’t break some rules.
Texas A&M definitely suspicious!

Go to slickguns.com and search for what you are looking for. They usually have the best prices and availability linked.
