prob a few more 10 win seasons.

Randy Sanders is perfect example. Fulmer knew football, he surrounded himself with good coaches. Even Dave Clawson is a good coach.

Should have been allowed to retire on his own terms.
Should have. I actually think the plan was at one point to hand the keys over to Randy whenever Phil decided to retire. Some of these guys that went to Clemson would have went to Tennessee instead had Fulmer remained the coach IMO.

Worst hire ever at TN was Mike Hamilton.

Yeah the NCAA will look pretty pathetic if they are going to do anything with us at this point with the landscape changing and what coaches are admitting... But of course I won't put it past them... because... UT...
Should the LSU basketball coach be let off too? Should all schools just be allowed to pay kids directly (which is against the rules) and get away with it just because kids are now allowed to profit off their Name, Image, and Likeness through business deals?

Why even have rules then?

You know Dr. Pepper was pissed that DJ from Clemson was such a bust...

As soon as I saw that ad, I knew it was a horrible decision. How does a brand with that level of market presence - and undoubtedly a ridiculous process internally to get marketing decisions approved - make that choice? Must have a Clemson alum in some leadership/decision-making role.

There was a time when he was considered the best recruiting head coach in the country. I wonder every now and then where we would be had he not been fired in 08.
A slow steady descent instead of a freefall...he was outdated and done..he needed fired, the FACT that he never got a sniff of another big job should tell anybody with a brain what the world thought of his "ability" by that point.

Pretty sure the year before his firing he signed a top 5 class.

His last class as HC was ranked 35th. To put it into perspective, we haven’t had a recruiting class rank that low since.

I’ll always like and respect Fulmer, but there was nothing to indicate that he would have turned it around. It was time for him to go.
However, it should have been handled much better.
