Disagree to an extent. A lot of these kids recognize what a lottery the NFL can be for them. They can make a lot more in the NFL than they ever will in college. You give a kid millions or hundreds of thousands or even just tens of thousands of reasons to do nothing but spend money and party and plenty will take you up on it. They'll realize two years after they're out of the program and cash that they made a very stupid decision.
So after mass chaos it will eventually balance out? But what if mass amounts of fans grow sick of all of it before it balances? I have to admit I am already much less excited about recruiting and keeping up with who’s on the team. But that’s my point. Players will go to a school because of money but then be unhappy and then hit the portal. So it’ll all balance out eventually.
They can't make those deals prior to enrollment. That's why the Ewers kid decided to enroll early. And any such deal is not supposed to be contingent on the school they pick.Well I'm sure there's some sort of contract. Example:
"Here's $1,000,000, let me take your picture and use your name."
Yeah, I’d like to know what’s going on in college station all of a sudden
And to continue my rant on TAMU, not only do they have the same conference record we do, their big out of conference foe was freakin' 4-8 Colorado, who they beat by a whopping 3 points. Their only selling point is a fluke upset of Bama. That's it. They underachieved in every other way. So you cannot convince me these kids aren't getting big paychecks to sign with them.
Last days of the bag man system. They are pushing all their chips into the center of the table this cycle because they feel threatened by Texas and OU entering the SEC and taking away that selling point for Texas high school players. They better get their NIL system up and running though, or all those guys who got paid under the table to sign will transfer out for bigger paydays than they can get in College Station.Only it's not all legal now. It'll be overlooked, but there are still rules in place that prevent the school or boosters from directly paying players to come there. I highly doubt just the promise of a lucrative NIL deal is what's attracting these kids, and NIL deals are also not supposed to be contingent on a recruit picking a certain school. Everyone thinks "there's no rules", but there are still rules. The problem is no one will do a damn thing about it. And because of the whole Pruitt mess, we are handicapped in paying recruits ourselves.
This made me laugh outloudFlorida AD be like

Lol. That's because they were buying them before. It just became legal. Also, the programs that have the most money are the most successful recently. The rich will get richer. The distance between the top and the middle will increase.Lol the teams at the top of the recruiting rankings are the exact same teams that were atop the recruiting rankings before NIL.

Because no matter how weak the class is, he’s likely a late round pick. Another year gives him a shot at a better round, maybe day 2, and he can still get some nice NIL money next year which is likely to be much much higher than what he’s likely to make as a late round pick.Anyone thinking Hooker goes to the Draft? I do. Doesn’t make sense for him to wait until next year with how weak this years draft class is.
Where's the rule/law that says private companies can't contract with private individuals prior to signing with a school? Remember this is supposed to have nothing to do with the educational institution. They can't make those deals prior to enrollment. That's why the Ewers kid decided to enroll early. And any such deal is not supposed to be contingent on the school they pick.
I'm not saying it's not happening. I 100% think it is. But you're wrong when you say it's "legal". It's not. But no one's going to do a damn thing about it, so certain schools are going to do it. Unfortunately, because Pruitt was caught paying guys before all of this came into effect, we're a school that won't do it right now. Maybe a few years down the road when the scandal is completely settled, but not right now.
