Eh I don’t really care about a marginally better bowl. If a major New Year’s Day bowl was on the line it would be different. As it stands, I would rather see Bama out of the playoffs as opposed to getting to Tampa over Nashville or something.

That said I think we all agree we don’t want either to win a championship.
If a major New Year's Day bowl was on the line, we would've already lost to Vanderbilt. . .

. . . too soon?

It's woke rainbow run fan fiction...if you know what I mean. If I didn't know the real world, story and characters I would probably like it about like I do The Witcher...but I do and it is extremely aggravating.

Have you played the Witcher? Because the show is horrible in comparison and that's with giving Cavill credit for being a great Geralt (far better than I expected). I compared notes with another guy who'd read the books but hadn't played all 3 games just to see if I was missing something and nope. I wasn't missing anything. It's that off. The few things I did understand came from the first 2 games, some from the short stories, but mostly it's made up trash. But the thing is they had to make the game 3 times to get it right and Wild Hunt really is a culmination of the first two attempts.

The guy who wrote the Witcher is an asshat who thinks he's famous because of his short stories rather than because of the game which he sold the rights to for the price of a used car. He was famous in Poland and there'd been European interpretations of his short stories and novellas but his novels hadn't even been translated into English when Wild Hunt came out. His anti-game attitude carried over to the tv show where they intentionally changed things the game had gotten right. Poles who consider the Witcher and CDPRojekt Red (the game house - name references the bootleg games they copied/pirated during Soviet bans on everything) to be a point of national pride but they will be the first to tell you not to listen to a thing Sapkowski says.

The reason CDPR made the Witcher to begin with and really they're more a collection of disjointed short stories that CDPR managed to cobble a real story out of in Wild Hunt is because Sapkowski's work was kind of a universal touchstone for Poles growing up when the Soviets were still in charge. His work was one of the few things the Soviets didn't censor, likely because it was fantasy.

The games are 100 percent improvements. I'm still watching the show but it's with the hope that it gets better. And I can already see from previews that they're making things more like the game. TWO SWORDS DAMMIT. NOT ONE ON THE HORSE!

Folks from South Louisiana don’t sound southern. Their dialect is distinctly different. Paula Deen is “southern” and not close to the culture he’ll experience in Baton Rouge and the surrounding towns.
So you're saying Brian Kelly needs to watch the movie Southern Comfort?

Yea, I can see that. I’m not a big fan of the writing and dialogue. Like I said, it’s mildly entertaining not knowing the books.
Yeah...I would say it's pretty well done though, the acting is actually top shelf, and I think the writing and dialogue is fine, not sharp, but not bad either, and will probably get better as the show goes on.

I think the cinematography is 1st class, but I'm not a fan of the set and costume designs...Emonds Field (the real name of the village in the Two Rivers district where they are from) looks zero like it is described, neither does Tar Valon and the White Tower except for the shape of the island and placement of the bridges...the Tinkers dress nothing like described, and the Whitecloak unis are freaking stupid and look nothing at all like they are supposed to.

Another big gripe too since they got to the White Tower last night and bookies will know what I mean...not ONE single Flame of Tar Valon, which is THE symbol of the Aes Sedai.

As I said...if I didn't know all that, I would probably think it was pretty entertaining..but I know how rich and vibrant and extremely nuanced that world and those characters are, so I feel let down.

No...I've not, and I have never read any of the stories and I am glad that I haven't..it would probably ruin the show for me if I did.

I don't understand why they can't do these adaptations like Peter Jackson did LotR..I understand pretty much every change that had to be made, and he threw a bullseye in the main characters and especially Middle Earth....every place looks exactly like it is described in the books, and the characters are who they are in the books.

Would love to watch the expansion and look forward to being on that party deck someday. Youngest son and I saw the A&M game, the last 5 minutes was from one of their party decks as we almost pulled out a win.

Since then I’ve made some connections where I get some info from time to time. Most I’m not allowed to share. Here’s what I’ve learned: nothing is for sure in recruiting. I’ve celebrated several things I’ve heard only for those players to end up elsewhere.
Lucky you. I am just in a group chat with some guys that don’t have a clue.
