Agreed, just saying he didn't "officially" announce today. I figure Rand will win +20 or so. Booker is just too far left for a statewide election in a Southern state. He supports M4A, Green New Deal, etc. Bernie, Warren, and the DSA endorsed him last year against McGrath.

He would be just right for the NE and Far West though. And a small minority of the rest of the country.

Ok, I only caught the tail end of the conversation. My apologies.
No worries. He's had the exploratory committee floating around since early Spring, so he might still run. I mean he doesn't stand a chance, but he hasn't made it official yet.

Exclusive — ‘People Close to the President Are Not Happy’: Trump Team Fuming as Ohio’s Jane Timken Website Appears to Falsely Claim Endorsement

Ohio Senate candidate Jane Timken had a photograph on her website’s “endorsements” page of her with former President Donald Trump, something an aide for the former president told Breitbart News displeases his team.

The photograph, which first received public attention from Timken’s website on Friday, made it appear as though she was claiming Trump’s endorsement — which she does not have. After a number of the other GOP campaigns for U.S. Senate in Ohio flagged it to Trump and his inner circle on Friday morning, Timken removed the photograph from her website.

“People close to the president are not happy,” a Trump aide told Breitbart News.

Timken’s campaign confirmed to Breitbart News that the website has been changed, and claimed that she was never trying to give off the impression Trump had endorsed her.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday formally endorsed Kelly Tshibaka, the Republican primary challenger to Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) for the midterm election, saying, “Murkowski is bad for Alaska.”

Trump, keeping his promise to campaign against Murkowski, is endorsing her top primary challenger with a statement from his leadership PAC, Save America.

He bluntly wrote, “Murkowski has got to go!”

Tshibaka is “MAGA all the way, pro-energy, strong on the Border, tough on Crime and totally supports our Military and our great Vets,” Trump explained.

Wisconsin Democrat Senate Candidate Charged with Four Felonies

A democratic Senate candidate from Wisconsin was charged Tuesday with four felonies for allegedly stealing several thousand dollars from her own campaign and lying about it.

Milwaukee City Councilwoman Chantia Lewis, who is running for Ron Johnson’s seat, allegedly stole $21,000 and used it to travel to a worship conference in Florida, pay tuition for classes at a bible college and go on family vacations, The Hill reports. She also used it to pay expenses like car and credit card bills.

The complaint also said that Lewis made more than 20 inappropriate ATM cash withdrawals, adding up to more than $5,000, between 2016 and 2020.

Dem Senate candidate to campaign with Liberal Donor who Boasted about '8-hour dinner' with Fidel Castro

Iowa candidate Abby Finkenauer will attend a fundraiser Thursday in San Francisco

Former Rep. Abby Finkenauer, D-Iowa, is set to campaign with a liberal donor who boasted online about dining with communist Cuban dictator Fidel Castro for eight hours while on a trip to Cuba in 2002.

Finkenauer, who is running against incumbent Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican, will be campaigning in San Francisco at an event hosted by the Electing Women Bay Area PAC. The event will take place on Thursday at the home of liberal political donor Andrea Dew Steele with a requested donation of $1,000.

However, Steele, who is the founder of Emerge America, boasted online in 2016 about an "8-hour dinner" she attended with Castro. Steele posted a picture on Facebook standing next to Castro and described a long dinner and trip to Cuba she took in 2002.

KINDRED SPIRITS: Pocahontas Endorses Senate Candidate Who Lied About Academic Credentials

warren-barnes.jpg

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), sometimes referred to as "Pocahontas," has thrown her support behind a fellow Democrat with a similar history of education-related lies.

The controversial senator and failed presidential candidate this week endorsed Wisconsin lieutenant governor Mandela Barnes, who is running for Senate and is best known for lying about graduating from college. Warren is the highest-profile Democrat to weigh in on the Wisconsin Senate primary, which will determine who takes on incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) in 2022.

Nine months after his election as lieutenant governor in 2018, Barnes admitted to lying about his academic credentials. When the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel interviewed him that year, Barnes said multiple times that he "finished" college in 2008. A subsequent profile stated that Barnes "graduated [from Alabama A&M University] with a degree in mass communications in 2008."

Democrats sweat midterm fallout from Nevada party crack-up

A bitter feud has divided Dems in a key swing state — and dragged in the national party.

A war between Harry Reid’s political machine and pro-Bernie Sanders forces is dividing Democrats in a key swing state — and dragging in the Democratic National Committee on the eve of a critical midterm election year.

The Nevada feud, which erupted earlier this year when insurgent Sanders supporters took over the state party from allies of the former Senate majority leader, has spiraled into a flurry of resignations, embarrassing headlines and the creation of a fully operating shadow party.

The rift is threatening Democrats’ chances of defending a Senate seat in 2022 that they can’t afford to lose, in what’s already shaping up to be a back-breaking election cycle for the party. President Joe Biden won Nevada by only 2 percentage points — a far more narrow margin of victory than he enjoyed in Virginia, where Republicans romped in the gubernatorial race last week, and New Jersey, where the GOP came close to defeating the incumbent Democratic governor.

Murkowski announces reelection bid, setting up battle with Trump

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) on Friday announced that she is running for reelection to the Senate in 2022, setting up a tough fight as former President Trump vows to unseat her.

Murkowski, in a statement and campaign video that marked the start of her reelection campaign, didn’t directly mention the former president but warned that the Senate race will draw national scrutiny and touted her deep ties to the state.

The Alaska race will, in many ways, be a test of the proxy fight between Trump and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who has vowed that he and his allies will back Murkowski.

Trump has already endorsed Kelly Tshibaka, who resigned from her job as Alaska’s Commissioner of Administration earlier this year in order to run for the Senate seat. Trump released a statement earlier this year accusing Murkowski of being “bad for Alaska” and calling Tshibaka “a fighter who stands for Alaska values and America First.”

Patrick Leahy, Vermont Senator Since 1975, Announces Retirement

Photo-by-Alex-WongGetty-Images-2121211111-e1611602374887.jpg

Vermont Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy announced his retirement Monday morning in his home state.

As president pro tempore, Leahy presided over former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial.

No Republicans have announced bids for Leahy’s seat, though several reports have floated that Democratic Rep. Peter Welch, Vermont’s lone House member, will launch a campaign. Some have also speculated that Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, a moderate Republican, may run, but he said through a spokesman Monday afternoon that the option was not on the table.

That still makes Joe Biden the current longest serving senator according to him.

Best thing Trump could do for his party and for America would be to step out of the spotlight and drive fundraising. His self obsessive need for Ahab level revenge is going to hurt the very causes he claims to champion

If he did this which is unlikely he would be very popular in a year to two years, and could see where the chips were.
