If we had lost that game, there would be a lot more saying what you're saying. For whatever reason, that "W" or "L" can erase a lot of what actually happened from people's minds imo. Just go back through the game thread...people were going waay further than you are...then we win and it's like none of it happened for some. Like you, I hardly want to drag Banks at all...but simply speaking on truths witnessed is far from that.

I think these, along with our abysmal 3rd down are legitimate concerns. Who knows - maybe it's the players - but when a defense can wreck lives on 1st and 2nd down and yet are nationally terrible at 3rd down - a highly playcall-dependent down...I think that shows the players are doing fine (not great, but good)...but it seems we aren't being put in position to succeed often enough on critical downs.
I said it too. Why does Invol get all the derision? I deserve some, too.

To have a chance on Saturday, we will need an early turnover by our defense. In 1982 when we ended Bama’s winning streak in Knoxville, it all started with a fumble recovery on Bama’s first drive. If we could get an early break and take an early lead, UGA might feel pressure for the first time all year.

defensive turnovers, special teams hidden yards/block and not turning it over ourselves is how we make it a game. Going to be interesting. I assume UGA will play man up first and expect their bigger/faster guys to win their matchups. One of those games where we will need to hit the big shot early so we can have that short intermediate pass game as our run game. This is the game where I worry about the pick 6 in those sideline passes. Been a few where I have cringed but we completed them.

I think our kids genuinely believe they can play with UGA. Most of these kids were on the team in Athens last year where we outplayed them in first half without an offense

Can you blame him? He gets free attention, because people on volnation can not stop posting his stuff.

We're already set to beat the season Vegas expectation by .5 game (and I think even 1.0 game by one sportsbook that had us at just 6.0 wins preseason lol)...outdoing expectations isn't something we're used to seeing here in football for a couple decades.

A win over UGA would absolutely put this season over the top. I always mention...I don't even know the last time we beat the season expectation by more than 1 full game...must be going deep into the Fulmer years...and that's with a couple close losses too (1-2 in 1-score games). It feels like every single program does it at some point, except us. Maybe we're due for finally doing it...it sure feels like it.
