This ^. Poor coaching decisions and poor player execution are not mutually exclusive. It started at OM and has continued through the Bama and UK games. They got beat by the running ability of Corral and Young. That's part coach D scheming/calls as well as lack of player execution. UK just did their version of it. Guess what UGA is going to do? What we do not know is if DC Banks did what Heup told him to do (probably). There are other factors we do not know as well.
What we do know. If you have a secondary who plays man and quarters reasonably well, yet, sucks at zone - should you design a game plan to use zone much of the game? That's what they did. Yes, use zone some with blitzes. You have to underneath since you are bringing extra guys. But let's use less of it in base. You can keep one or two S high with man everywhere else and at worst quarters. UGA is going to eat our lunch with their TE's and RB's if we zone too much. Play man or quarters and emphasize tackling well.
Hopefully, Heup and DC Banks have learned some lessons or else the team will be in for a long day. Have success or get beat quickly because you have a quick strike O that can respond - even against UGA with the right play calls. But get off the field quicker with that undermanned D.
