Were some calls mistakes, of course; but, overall, Banks has called pretty good games all year. That's not Banks' play call whenever Beasley is on skates most of the night, or going for a ride, or getting hurdled...Jeremy Banks was even taken for a ride a couple of times by Levis, couldn't bring him down. NO EXCUSE for the two dropped INTs, much less hinting at Banks' game plan. Gotta make tackles, man...blocking and tackling are the two most absolute pillars of the game...we got to tackle better, and get off blocks better; yes, other parts need fixed or tuned, but tackling and shedding blocks by LBs and Safeties...to me, that's what jumps off the screen.

I've been extremely pleased with Banks all year. There is no other way to describe last Saturday's defensive performance than pathetic. Surely I don't need to go drag out statistics. The question is where do we place blame? You, McGill and others seem to think it was mostly on the players. While I do believe the players have some of the blame, I think Banks had a poor showing. Does that mean I want him fired (that's usually the response from some when you are slightly critical of a coach)? Hell no.

All I know is when we set back and played zone and rushed 3-4, we consistently gave up huge chunk plays. Time and time again allowed big play after big play. When we rushed 5 or more we time and time again (I realize that was very few), good things happened most of the time.

What I said is still true. They were put in position to make plays and didn't make them.

They make those plays, especially the two dropped easy interceptions and you are not sitting here calling it a horrible game plan...and they don't run 99 plays.
But they didn't make those plays. Despite 90 plays where they didn't make those plays he still kept them in the same defense. If they run zone and rush 3-4 against GA and GA will make KY look like a middle school team.

Speaking of COVID, I got my Pfizer booster yesterday. It’s amazing - the Bill Gates microchip is barely noticeable at all. And, my 5G cell reception is fantastic all of a sudden!

In all seriousness, I got my booster AND flu shot in the same arm - a little sore today in the arm, but no other side effects. 👍
Good for you, Brother. Maybe we can have a beer together some time and compare our microchips.

Man I hope Hooker come back.
I want him back also, but it is a win-win, I think. If Hooker gets drafted relatively high this year, then that is great evidence that Heupel can develop QB, to those who may have had questions . Great for recruiting and great for Hendon. Still hope he does come back next year.

I have no one in my family like that, and I have some messed up dudes in my family. I kind of feel bad for him though.

When he came out and tried to defend being mid-30s and in a relationship with a 16 yo girl as being okay because her parents didn’t mind, it told me all I needed to know about him. Hes trash

Keep us updated Riverrat
He’s still at Vanderbilt they have ruled out heart attack mini stroke and seizures. They are not sure what happened to cause his spell but he had no broken bones from the accident. So all in all just a scary situation and the Lord was watching over him. A high probability he will be discharged today. Thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

If y’all could take a moment a day a prayer for my family I’d appreciate it.

My father had a spell driving down the interstate thankfully no one was injured in the wreck but he was airlifted to Vanderbilt possible heart attack they are running tests. He didn’t know where he was and doesn’t remember much other than making a trip to pick up his meds in town. Got confused drove past his exit about 50 or so miles and hit a guard rail. Due to covid protocols I can’t be there with him. My brother is there. It’s wearing out my nerves with not knowing what’s happening as it happens. He is alert now so he is improving but I would still very much appreciate y’all thoughts and prayers.
🙏😇

The players were the ones that didn't execute the plays they were put in the correct place to make...if they execute those plays, then you are not in here calling it a pathetic game plan. I am not "blaming" the players, I am just stating the truth.

The plan was sound and I have explained why I believe it was...could he have started sending more earlier...Yes...but don't you think Kentucky would have adjusted and set us up, then called plays to burn it?

He called the play and literally told Alontae (according to Alontae) where to stand to get the interception, and he called the plays that stopped Kentucky when it mattered most and they were not ready for it.

I don't think yours is a dumb position, I felt the same way at first...I just disagree now.

Is it something that returns to normal post surgery, or is it one of those injuries like an ACL issue that seems to cause lingering issues for a player?

It can return to normal. But just like any significant injury, some people don’t get 100% back for a myriad of reasons.

Did I say the players didn't share fault?

They ran 99 plays. The only time we stopped them is when we were aggressive on D. We played 99% of the game in a zone that we didn't cover. The 1% they played aggressive they were successful.

It's OK for a coach to have a bad game. I am one to believe the blame for the pathetic showing on defense should be shared between the coaches and the players. You seem to believe the blame only lies at the players feet.

This ^. Poor coaching decisions and poor player execution are not mutually exclusive. It started at OM and has continued through the Bama and UK games. They got beat by the running ability of Corral and Young. That's part coach D scheming/calls as well as lack of player execution. UK just did their version of it. Guess what UGA is going to do? What we do not know is if DC Banks did what Heup told him to do (probably). There are other factors we do not know as well.

What we do know. If you have a secondary who plays man and quarters reasonably well, yet, sucks at zone - should you design a game plan to use zone much of the game? That's what they did. Yes, use zone some with blitzes. You have to underneath since you are bringing extra guys. But let's use less of it in base. You can keep one or two S high with man everywhere else and at worst quarters. UGA is going to eat our lunch with their TE's and RB's if we zone too much. Play man or quarters and emphasize tackling well.

Hopefully, Heup and DC Banks have learned some lessons or else the team will be in for a long day. Have success or get beat quickly because you have a quick strike O that can respond - even against UGA with the right play calls. But get off the field quicker with that undermanned D.

"Incredible" does not even begin to describe these places..there are no words that really do. They all seem too small and insufficient.

For instance, I don't have the words to describe the pure rapturous awe that I felt upon seeing and touching my first Sequioia and strolling through a grove of those ancient monarchs. I could feel the weight of the years in their presence...I thought of all that happened since a tree like the Old Batchelor had sprouted some 2,700 years ago...three-four hundred years before Alexander conquered a chunk of the world..that blew my mind.

I remember when @BaldBiker planted that tree like it was yesterday…🤠
