In its history, Tennessee has been involved in 16 contests in which the Vols’ opponent was ranked No. 1 in the country in the AP Poll. UT has a 2-14* all-time record when playing the nation’s AP top-ranked team. *UT also lost to Florida in 1997, when the Gators were No. 1 in the Coaches Poll. The Vols’ two victories against a No. 1 team have come against Southeastern Conference foes. Tennessee, ranked No. 13, edged LSU 14-13 on Nov. 7, 1959, in Knoxville, to knock the Tigers out of the top spot. On Sept. 28, 1985, the Vols, 0-0-1 and unranked at the time, soundly defeated top-rated Auburn 38-20 in Knoxville. The 1985 Vols went on to win the SEC Championship and finish No. 4 nationally in all polls.

It's been a while. Time for the 1985 Ghosts to show up!

He didn’t call the foul bc they bumped into each other….. he called the foul bc the player taunted the Steelers sideline….. I don’t agree with that call either especially in that situation.

The whole game was a mess and a failure of officiating.

I really hope that a direct or indirect result of sports wagering going mainstream is that refs are held accountable. Now that millions are on the line, it won't be a taboo thing to talk about. The best case scenario would be refs improving across the board, in all sports. Officiating remains the weakest, most easily exploitable factor in professional/big time sports. It's ridiculous, time for a change.

Crazy how we played 9 #1 ranked teams from 2009 to 2019. Yet played 7 all other years, 8 of you include Florida in 97

That’s the one! Great pic but it’s just like Grand Canyon in that no photo (or video even) can capture the sense of scale you get by standing there. Absolutely floored me.

Can you imagine in the days before mass communication, just happening upon that place with no prior expectation?
You are right, driving out of the Wawona Tunnel and seeing the Valley is breathtaking...and this pic definitely doesn't do it justice. I can't wait to go back when Bridalveil is flowing. Yosemite was dry too, and Vernal and Nevada barely had any flow.

This? (Sorry about the quality)

We got screwed; but, they should have never even been in that game to begin with. People shout at the heavens about Georgia State loss being the worst ever...that loss is not even in the same vicinity as the Memphis loss. Worst loss in my lifetime.

Playing UGA as a #1 seed is basically the Kobayashi Maru. Their players, the officials, the SEC home office, and the announcers will all be against us. Just have to go out there, take their worst, and try to scare them with some big plays.
I'd give just about anything to upset them. It would be the most satisfying win in many years. Knocking them down and potentially out of the playoffs.

If we somehow beat them, it creates some doubt in their minds and likely leads to another loss before the end of the season (including playoffs).

The biggest news out of the VQ chat last night was when AP said that there are big time things going on behind the scenes with NIL. He said that people in state are very committed to this. If Hooker comes back, he’ll get some big ones. And not only that, that isn’t going to be a problem in recruiting
Big news. I think everyone is really liking the product on the field and is ready to invest more in it.

Seeing El Cap from right there at the bottom is mind boggling...Yosemite as a whole is freaking unreal. You need to put a trip there on high priority.
That's one park outside the East Coast I actually have been to (and the Redwoods). Got lucky enough to have my wife's friend get married in Yosemite, so it was a great excuse to go. Unfortunately we didn't see it from the bottom (at least on foot) though I do remember driving around the lower area and we definitely saw it from afar. The wildest thing to me was seeing all the dots of folks on el cap - climbers in their overnight tents. Absolutely wild and the area is gorgeous. The drive in was pretty wild though, we were going through very late...odd route...no guardrails on the way up these windy cliffs...never driven so slowly in my life as I did that night.

It’s certainly a nice thought, but we are going to get hosed on calls. The league is only concerned with protecting its playoff berths.
