So if the dudes make the two easy ints that they were put in the right place to make, or if they had made several third down tackles they were put in the right place to make..then we are sitting here discussing a 62ish-20ish blowout instead of bitching at Tim Banks because those guys did not make those plays...that is an execution problem, not a game plan problem.
I get the frustration, but after watching the game again I feel differently than you. The plan was to make Levis have to execute 30 plays instead of four or five. Knowing Levis and his proclivitie to be impatient and stupid, it was a good idea and if those guys make the Ints and tackles they were put in position to make, it would have borne good fruit.
The fourth and 24 was converted because one player blew his assignment...he didn't see Cummings.
Did I say the players didn't share fault?
They ran 99 plays. The only time we stopped them is when we were aggressive on D. We played 99% of the game in a zone that we didn't cover. The 1% they played aggressive they were successful.
It's OK for a coach to have a bad game. I am one to believe the blame for the pathetic showing on defense should be shared between the coaches and the players. You seem to believe the blame only lies at the players feet.
