And preseason (and two weeks ago) it was a guaranteed loss…progress.

Don't give Kiffin any special attention.
So... Don't go to the game then?

Empty Neyland. That will show him no one cares about him lol. Kiffin coached here over a decade ago. Time to treat him like any other coach rolling in here imo.

And this is the last home game of the season where it is expected to be a close game. Last opportunity to maximize home field advantage. Treat it like a big deal because it is.

Yeah, it's like a faction of our fan base learned a new trick and wants to do it all the time. Hey, congrats, looks good, let's wait until we all want to do it. You shouldn't feel like you have to drag everyone into the party and make the AD bullhorn your plans. Whatever though, it's fun when everyone gets into it.
That sums up how I feel pretty much. If the AD wants to do it, let them organize it. I understand the first one was fan organized and that was pretty cool, but you don't want the inmates running the asylum for a reason. Those same accounts talk about Checkering Neyland every single home game.

Hooker probably wouldn’t have even thrown them bc he didn’t feel comfortable making those throws at that time….. he has improved immensely.
Lol bro stop. We get it by now. Let’s move on and be happy we are kicking a** and taking names. Tired of this argument continuing on and on and feeding it.

We got bigger challenges at present besides water under the bridge. We beat USCe and Mizzou last year. I know many of you love style points but the conference play from here on out will show whether there has been significant improvement or not.

Agree with the overall message.
I've already given Heup credit for a decent amount of improvement. My reasoning has been the apples and oranges thing. The names playing under Pruitt, the number of return starters, 1st vs 3rd year, etc..

No clue what the future holds under Heup but it would have to go really south this year for me to feel differently, given the starting points.
Fingers crossed there's no plate of crow in my future. Had my fair share of that stupid bird and not really a fan.

Anybody else’s apathy for the program starting to finally go away? I’m already sick thinking about the game against Ole Miss… just like the old days 😬
mine has certainly been put in the back seat.

i was about as apathetic as it comes after watching the Pitt and Florida games. so i'm really pleased with how the last two weeks have gone.

i think this week is important for a couple of reasons, but mainly more times than not when we've had these "opportunity" games early on in the previous coaches' tenures, we've come up short or laid eggs. you go back and think about those games like 09 Bama or dooley's LSU game, or 13 UGA, 14/15 Florida, 15 OU...on and on....there were opportunities for all of those staffs to really put their stamp on the program early on, vs. hanging on to what 'could be, if...' because of another moral victory. so many "if's" in those games........so leaving a game like this with more "ifs" would inevitably give fans cause to wonder if we're just in for more of the same this time? we have already had two games with a few 'ifs' in them.....but they're early, it's year one, and we really do have issues that are hard to overcome, roster/depth wise. so no one is/should be super upset. but now...seeing what we've seen....we have hope.

it'd be nice to see us take the bull by the horns, on a prime time game, at home, against a top 15 opponent and close the deal. it won't be a sin if we don't, Ole Miss is a good football team and will cause us all kinds of problems. but if we're there late in the game with a chance to win it....

just go win the damn thing, and skip the moral victory bs. be that team.

Anyone see Beamers comments? Holy hell that guy is a snake and delusional. He is Butch 2.0, maybe worse. Said they could have come back if they converted the two point conversion and owned the second half. Wow at his comments. I think he is fired in two years.

Heupel was an underwhelming hire but it could have been so much worse.

I have taken to calling him Cocaine Butch.

We have had a lot of injuries this year but some have sort of been a blessing in disguise. It has forced us to put kids in position to go out there and prove the staff can trust them and more times than not the kids are stepping up and giving staff more
Options in positions that they can trust.

Ollie Lane and Kingston Harris at Guard. 2 guys I ever expected we would see but Cooler injury forced them into action.

Whatever the deal is with Mitchell has allowed Beasley and Page at LB to step up. Beasley in particular has made it hard to take him out. He is always seemingly around the ball and has imo taken that spot from Mitchell. I’d like to see Apache get some reps he has impressed me whenever he gets in field.

Seen some improvement from Harrison as he has gotten more time with Baron injury limited his reps and Young situation for first two games. Omari getting more snaps at DT with Elijah slowed by injury.

Slaughter, Tmac, Charles, Turnage have showed flashes that they can provide productive depth for the starters if not challenge them for their spot.

Brooks going down has allowed us to see some other guys on Punt and Kickoff while he healed up.

Kids seem to be buying into the next man up mentality as they appear ready to seize the opportunity making it harder for staff not to keep them out there

Was thinking about this yesterday and you know what helps develop depth? Hanging 40 points in the first half and letting the 2's and 3's play the second half. these fast starts are beneficial in many ways.

So i think i am in the minority here, but I would take the under on the 79.5 points this weekend.

I think this will be a LoS battle and we will run more than we will pass - they play a 3 man front that begs us to run. We will. Slowing down the game and keeping them off the field. So I could see a 38-35 type of game. I could also see our D getting the upper hand and shutting down a few of their drives so maybe even a 35-20 type of game.

Just my two cents.
